Abe 1: Rotation of Traditional Leadership Position Irreversible, Derobes Chief Okorotete for Opposing Policy

The Ovie of  Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso Abe 1, JP. OON has said that the rotation of traditional leadership position approved by the Uvwie Traditional Council of Chiefs(Ogwedion) is the remedy for sustained peace in the Kingdom

At an emergency meeting of the Ogwedion executive council in Effurun on Thursday, one Chief Venacious Okorotete was derobed while Mr Elvis Eramadawa was removed as a member of the Uvwie Education Scholarship Committee for daring to drag the revere name of the King to court over traditional leadership dispute.

HRM Emmanuel Sideso immediately announced Chief Raphael Gbasiyo, the current Usiavwe of Ugbomro as acting Unuevworo of Ugbomro

He said Chief Venacious Okorotete could no longer be a chief in the Kingdom having flouted the guidelines forbidding chiefs from dragging the traditional institution to court which he agreed to when he was conferred with the chieftaincy title.

According to him as the custodian of the Uvwie customs, it is very wrong for brothers to fight brothers over position and he gave a brief history of the four ruling houses in  Ugbomro as well as how the Eruowho, Abe and Imedo ruling houses in the Kingdom also came about

He added that he would continue to pray for all sons and daughters of the Kingdom who seek and work to sustain the peace

The Ororobe ruling house in Ugbomro has dragged the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom and others to court seeking to stop the appointment of an Unuevworo for the Ugbomro, claiming that they are the sole custodian of the title.
