The Ag. State Chairman of the Light of APC Delta State, Evang. Ossai Abey, on behalf of his team of leaders and the entire members of the Light of APC Delta State, today give special thanks to God for sparing the life of one of our great leaders, the Ag. Deputy State Chairman of the Light of APC Delta State and a one time Delta Central Senatorial Aspirant, under the Democratic People’s Party (DPP), Sir Richard Odibo.
Today we thank God and celebrate with the family, friends and associates of Sir Richard Odibo for God’s deliverance and protection, yet again from the hands of men of the underworld. The incident which happened along the NNPC Housing Complex road, Ekpan, near Warri, took place in the late hours of the 21st August, 2017.
According to the man of God and Chairman of the Light of APC, ‘’God the protector of mankind, has proven to the whole world that you are fighting a just course and for this reason he has kept you for us and deltans in general, so that together we will complete the assignment of taking our people to the promise land, which he has ordained for us all. The New Delta”
The Chairman admonished all members of the Light of APC to keep faith, that no matter how hard the enemies try, they will always fail, because the Bible says; “they shall surely gather, but their gathering is not approved by God”
Sir Richard Odibo who is an ardent supporter of the People’s General, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, was on his way home that fateful night, along the NNPC housing complex road in Ekpan, when he encountered a group of armed bandits, who were chasing after him and shooting sporadically, As he tried to speed off, to escape them their attack, he lost control of the wheel of his Mercedes Benz SUV and crashed into a very thick swamp. It was a very ghastly accident, but he miraculously survived it, and came out unhurt. On seeing him crash into the swamp, the assailants zoomed off thinking he had died.
Also speaking, Dr. Mrs Veronica Ogbuagu, a former commissioner of education in the state, and one of the key leaders of the Light of APC Delta, expressed great joy at the miraculous works of God, saying, ‘’if it had not been for the Lord, who is on our side, I wonder how it would have been”. The enemies planned evil for us, but God in his infinite mercies has delivered us and will always deliver us from all their evil plots.
According to Chief Frank Ovie Kokori, the “Ose” of The Light of APC, this is a of Victory for APC, “We are happy, our gratitude to God cannot be expressed, but can only be imagined. And I know he has preserved my son Richard for a reason” Chief Frank Kokori further prayed that, God should protect Sir Richard Odibo and grant him the grace to play his part, in the emancipation of our people, from the evil shackles of the Okowa/PDP led Government of Delta State.
On his part, Sir Richard Odibo the Deputy State Chairman of the Light of APC, was overwhelmed with joy, at the show of love towards him from the leadership and members of the Light of APC Delta State. He thanked God Almighty for his protection and prayed for all leaders and members of the Light of APC for God to protect us all. He also extended the prayers to all members of APC and well wishers for God to keep them alive to also be part of the emancipation team.
According to Sir Richard Odibo, he doesn’t know where this is coming from, but he assured us all that, it wont deter him from his goals and purpose. “have always stood for the truth and for my people who look up to me. I don’t see this incidence as a discouragement, rather I see it as a call to double my effort towards the emancipation of Delta State” It would be recalled that Sir Richard Odibo, once had a similar attack in the past, along Jakpa road and God delivered him.
Sir Odibo gave a Special thanks to; The People’s General, Chief Great Ogboru, Chief Engr. Hyacinth Enuha, the Chairman of the Elders/Leaders Committee, Diokpa Donald Ugnaja D.I.G (Rtd.) and the Super Senator, for their support. Also appreciated by Sir Richard Odibo are: Mr. Awani Tosan a great leader and an ardent supporter of the People’s General from Delta South, the State Chairman of APC, Prophet Jones Ode Erue, Evang. Ossai Abey the State Chairman of the Light of APC, Dr. Mrs Veronica Ogbuagu, the Iron Lady of Delta APC., Chief Barr. Fred Obe,a leader from Delta South, Mr. Emmanuel Tosan Ogoru, the Delta South Senatorial Vice Chairman of the Light of APC, Engr. Dr. Goodnews Agbi, one of the leaders from the Isoko National and a host of other leaders too numerous to mention.
In another development, Mr. Innocent Anidi, calls on the State Government to wake up to his responsibility, by ensuring proper protection of lives and properties of Deltans. He stated that the increase in crime rate, ritual killings and community crisis, is an indication that the State Government has failed. He thanked God for keeping our leader, Sir Odibo alive. He prayed that, we shall all reap the fruit of our struggle, which he said is changing Okowa come 2019.
