THE GHOST OF THE FOETUS

Business

festusI sojourned in the world of dreamy greenery
of little flowers
Beyond the visible mass of earthly cloak
Praying, let the opportunity to blossom forth
dawn on my anxious bud
To cast off my karmic colours for sparkling white

He showed up with masculine promises
Flaunting vanities and speaking sweet lies
You responded to loving him the more
Swaggered about and trusting his protective muscles
Always wanting to sniff his illusive ambience
You fell to his fantasies and deceitful kisses
traded your virtue for bait
Then he played with your virgin womb, planted a seed
And watered by the faithful gardeners
Of whom my foetus grows each passing time

You realized his antics and evil swelled up in your heart
You hated motherhood, hated my ghost
looked the cradle and the nappies in disdain
and forbids mother’s kiss to her new born
Never allowed my tender lips to yell and suckle
Denied my little voice a first cry to the world
Unmindful of the pains inflicted on my delicate body
As you gulped the pharmacist murderous pills
Aborted my dream through the Doctor’s knife of anguish
Piercing into my heartbeat
and letting my blood of life flow into the unknown
I died with my dreams
I died when I never lived
Woman your womb was not a tomb
But a haven to nurture my little body to life
