The seemingly apt, but at the same time, a very instructive statement, that…
“Marriages are made in Heaven”, is sometimes uttered and heard in the
human society. And they come from intense and gravely challenging
experiences, that people have gone through, most times very sour and bitter.
But, in the attendant recognitions, accompanying those experiences, vital
lessons presumably have had to be gained, in the process! Those recognitions
and lessons, in retrospect, have profoundly impacted people’s intuition…for
them to come to the “conclusion”…that Marriages in real terms, could only be
made in heaven! Disappointments, resignations, frustrations, despondency
and hypocrisy…often accompany the uttering of this statement. It has even
been wisely proclaimed that, ironically, those that are furthest removed from
Heaven, are also heard to hypocritically utter, this very loaded statement!
It can be established, in all honesty, that the sacred institution of Marriage, is
one institution that mankind have recklessly debased and ridiculed its
fundamental concept, because of what ill-informed and ill-advised human
creatures have regretfully, made of it! Ask couples that are intending to
marry…what the institution of marriage says, about the Creative Will; from
whence, the dispensation of marriage originates; the prime obligations that
devolve unconditionally, on those intending to be bonded in marriage; what
the specific goals of the act of marriage are, in spiritual terms… the grinning
emptiness and utter lack of knowledge and understanding, would be clearly
exposed, in their responses! But how do you adopt, an undiscerning and
overtly adventurous approach, to a serious endeavour, that you really know
next to nothing about? This is where the tragedy of the whole matter,
becomes quite evident. With most marriages…the decision is akin to…fools
and simpletons rushing in, where Angels fear to tread…!
If there is an inter- personal experience, that can decisively make or
mar human life…it is the success or otherwise, of the marital
experience!
It we go on to ask people generally and intending couples what, convincingly,
they know of that “Heaven”…where fulfilled marriages are supposed to have
been made, the response again, would be largely uncertain, dodgy and
literally foggy! Most people on earth, do perceive heaven…as some glorious
place behind-the-clouds; where a Creator (and angels) is supposed to inhabit,
in sovereignty… and Dominion. And of course, the assumed notion is that
anything coming from Heaven, must have received the blessing and
benediction of the perfect and wise Creator, before being proffered to human
creatures, down below!
It may sound rather impracticable and uncharitable to say that, given the
unmitigated disaster that humans have made of the marriage-institution, we
men and women of these times, should perhaps keep our distance, from this
Sacred Institution…until such a time, when the tone of morality, ethical
sensitivity and well informed spirituality, would have improved substantially,
on the face of this depraved and sunken Earth! However, it would still be
desirable and healthy to look at the brighter side of things. As earlier implied
in this presentation, a failed marriage often succeeds, in making repulsive
monsters and beasts, of human beings! In the settings of marriage these
times, domestic violence, cold cruelty, insensitivity, schemes of vengeance
and brutality do thrive, to such extent that one wonders, when human beings
would really be amenable to the dictates of true-love, temperance, civility,
restrained behavior… and Purity.
The sacred Act of Marriage, was not conceived in the human mind, in the first
place! In other words, the starting point of its conception, was NOT the
human society on Earth! The human creature, is permitted to experience it as
an institution from out of the glorious Outworkings of the Creative Will! Its
peculiar direction-of-approach, as a blessed feature, of the Outworkings of the
Creative Will, towards human creatures, is from ABOVE… downwards! The
human creature will therefore be doing himself a whole lot of good, if he can
engender the honest quest for pertinent Knowledge in this connection, so that
thoughtless forays into marriage, will not prove to be a big and costly
retrogressive gamble!
Yes… Marriages, are made in heaven! It is an irrefutable statement of fact, for
someone who has self-motivated himself/herself, and acquired the knowledge
to know, the strict lawfulness that beautifully circumscribes the evolution of
the male and female species in Creation. The Adam and Eve allegorical
narrative, does not exhaustively proffer this knowledge, as useful and
instructive, as that allegorical account was. The female and male human
creatures that we see everyday, are in reality to be seen in their actual Origin
(outside and Above the earth) as “split-species” from… an erstwhile composite
“WHOLE”! And as “split-species” they are, unavoidably, attracted and drawn
to each other, in all naturalness, in the human communal-setting on Earth!
The specific context, in which to contemplate this, is in the providential
Omniscience in the Creative Will, which in sacred wisdom had conceived the
marriage institution, as it were, to provide a healthy and uplifting setting, for
the latter coming-together, of the male and female split-pecies. The beautiful
details about the supernal wisdom, which the institution of Marriage bespeaks,
cannot be exhaustively explained here, for reason of space.
In view of the foregoing….it stands to reason that… if the Providential
Outworkings of the Creative Will, had benevolently supported the evolution of
the split-species (male and female sexes) and conditioned their mutual
attraction this far…any “coming-together” on Earth, such as in formal marital
union and bonding, cannot be contracted, without “upbuilding contributions”
and edifying input from… HEAVEN… where we all know that the Creative Will
situates! Unseen Helpers, abound around the human creatures, subsisting on
Earth, guiding their lawful aspirations, and leading them to overtly beneficial
ends.
Heaven…is Above! And outside the low-lying Earth, where edifying Help;
faithful Guidance; guiding Wisdom and uplifting Love, permanently reside! In
other words, Heaven comes forth as a spiritual Observatory, as it were, that
commands widely-spanning and pervasive overview, as far as the different
shades of human experiencing on Earth are concerned! All the spiritually
legitimate needs of man on earth, are taken up in resonance, for direct
guidance, when the genuine and honest longing of human creatures…ring-a-
bell there! Fervent prayers on other diverse needs of man, also resonate
towards the throne-of-GRACE!
One of the pre-conditions for a Marriage to be contracted in Heaven, is for
whoever (man or woman) longs and prays to contract such, to single-
mindedly work towards it in purity…to earn the enabling grace! TO GIVE IS
TO RECEIVE . This Grace is not a “honorary conferment” that simply falls on
one’s laps! The only road that exists, to a marriage that is made in Heaven…is
to consciously and consistently abide by the Laws of The Creative Will. So that
the Heavens, can really have a “hand” in the endeavour. “Most importantly,
a couple who would have had their marriage made in Heaven…MUST
BE FITTINGLY COMPLEMENTARY, in their nature , predisposition and
being! This is a very fundamental pre-condition. It is only from such
complementary unions and bonding… that Harmony, the resounding-
Harmony, which immensely benefits the Whole-of-Creation, in diverse ways,
can come from. The heavenly-functionaries, put in place by the Creative Will,
to gladly guide mankind, from the aforementioned spiritual “Observatory”
, can accurately identify those that carry complementing- qualities within…and
if, and when, they long in purity, for marital experience, in the course of their
lives, they are faithful guided and led…to literally meet each other! IT IS A
MOST DECISIVE HOUR AND MOMENT… And when this happens, the
Hosts of Heaven, do rejoice exultantly!
In a spiritually disconnected world, the aforementioned picture being
proffered here, will certainly be difficult to conceptualise, because of curious
beliefs and notions, that people have firmly held, in their respective religions
circles! BUT THIS DOES NOT ALTER IN THE SLIGHTEST DEGREE…THE
PICTURE OF REAL LIFE , THAT IS , BEING PORTRAYED HERE!
What was ordained in the Outworkings of the Creative Will, is for human
creatures (as split-species) on earth, in the course of their maturing
development, to strive for virtues and live such wholesomely pure lives…that
they can be faithfully led, by higher guidance, to contract marriages that are
founded and made, in Heaven! Rightly understood, this gracious dispensation
of the ALMIGHTY CREATOR, confirms unmistakably who…HE IS, IN HIS
UNAPPROACHABLE MIGHT, HIS OMNISCIENCE AND UNALTERABLE
GOODNESS.
When human creatures went defiantly prodigal, at a point in their maturing
development, the collateral damage that occurred concomitantly, was
unimaginably huge. The myriads of Blessings…yet to be unearthed for
mankind, was justifiably held up, because the right-soil, for the anchorage of
such Blessings, had not been conditioned by erring mankind! One of such
withheld blessings… is the experiencing on Earth…of Marriages… made in
Heaven!
Harmony, it was revealed… is a very STRICT condition for Creation. The
wholesome setting of spiritually grounded Marriage, was ordained to provide
an anchorage for Harmony, which was ordained to be directly supportive of
life, just like Oxygen is! Without oxygen, living entities cannot thrive and
survive on earth. Without sustained and abiding harmony, in the human
community on earth, there would unavoidably come about… a sustained
impoverishment of the human soul. This will make it impossible, to condition
an enabling ambience, for unimpeded growth, flowering and timely fruition of
the innate virtues, that human creatures are supposed to engender, nurture
and foster! The consistent nurturing and fostering of those Virtues will
condition the strengthening of the Humanity…in Man,
Mankind have made an odious failure of the institution of marriage, because
they would not bring up the requisite spiritual qualities that are needed to
make marriage a spiritually fulfilling experience, as has been the case, for a
very long time now. At whose doorstep, should the blame for this failure be
laid? Mankind’s!
In the wholesome Perfection, that will always attend the glorious outworkings
of the Creative Will, the Goodness and infinite Love of the Creator had put in
place, before man ever became conscious of it…EVERYTHING NEEDED TO
ATTAIN TRUE HUMANITY! AND THUS PEACE! GOODWILL TO ALL
MEN, WILL ALSO NOT BE LACKING!
