Uvwie Monarch hails St. George’s hostel, Ugbomro says its fruit of his development Agenda

The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM. Dr. Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso, Abe 1, JP. OON has commended the establishment of St. George’s Catholic Hostel(AMURUN’S COURT) near the Federal University of Petroleum, Effurun noting that this is one of the fruits of his development agenda for the Uvwie nation by ensuring that a federal institution is sited here to promote the transformation of the immediate community’.  The hostel is named in honour of nonagenarian. The Uvwie Monarch who spoke in Ugbomre, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State on 21^st April, 2022 noted that in the process of establishing the university some persons in the community opposed the acquisition of land by the federal government and spread false information about the university but today many of them a reaping the benefits of the location of the institution.

He recalled that about 15 years ago he advised land owners in Ugbomre not to sell their land indiscriminately and that they should invest in it like building hostels and others and was happy that an indigene of Uvwie had started such project

According to him, this is the beginning of better times to come and appealed to the community to be peaceful, protect the lecturers and students of the university saying that the era in which some communities in Uvwie were notorious for youths restiveness was over forever.

He commended the initiator of the project, Chief Eriaborosan Amurun for listening to his fathers advise to invest in Uvwie instead of Lagos and also commended Chief George Amurun, the Esirierha of Alegbor for encouraging his son to invest, despite all the challenges they faced initially while trying to acquire the land

Chief Eriaborosan Amurun while responding recalled that if not for the encouragement of his father, he would have preferred to invest his resources in Lagos. He also recalled the various challenges he faced while executing the project
