The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Emmanuel Sideso, Abe 1, JP OON has reemphasized that the objective behind creation of administrative units in the Kingdom is for traditional administrative convenience and not about sharing of land or dispossessing any one or group of their legitimate ancestral lands or property.
HRM Sideso in a proclamation to some stakeholders in Uvwie on Saturday 27th, March 2021 declared that the boundary between Alegbo and Ohore was the gate of Mercy land Church as recommended and would reflect on the map to be prepared.
While commending members of the boundary committee headed by Chief(DR) Samuel Eshenake, the Unuevworo of Ohore for their excellent report, the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom regretted however that the purpose of the committee was misconstrued by certain persons as he had said severally that the creation of Etches was for traditional administrative convenience.
HRM Sideso recalled that on the day of ascension, he promised the creation of more Etche to meet with the effective traditional administration of the Kingdom due to expansion and increasing population
He frowned particularly at the issue of funds from corporate bodies and individuals mentioned in the report stressing that any fund that comes to any part would be shared except “DEVE” banned by the state government. He also regretted the language used by certain persons in the report and demanded for an apology
The Uvwie Monarch appealed to the Unit(Etche) leadership to ensure peaceful and cordial relationship among all the component parts, through regular meetings, fair and equitable sharing of common resources and most importantly by sharing love and respect for each other.
According to him this is important because in Uvwie most people share close blood and marital relationship
He said the new map to be produced would reflect all the approved amendments for administrative convenience by each Etche and circulated to Inuevworo, would be effective from 27th March, 2021
Amongst those at the ceremony were Chief Hope Akasa, Unuevworo of Alegbo, Chief Tene Omadide, Unuevworo of Ogbe, Chief S. Agbugbu, Unuevworo of Erovie, Chief (Dr.) Samuel Eshenake, Unuevworo of Ohore, community youths and women leaders
