Christmas is meant to be a day set aside to recall in humility (commemorate) the coming to Earth of Jesus the Christ.
In order to experience it consciously the way it should be, one needs to be convinced of the personality called Jesus and the reason(s) for the commemoration.
The birth and earth-life of Jesus had great impact & still have on the life of everyone on Earth and on the Earth itself. To those who are conscious of this, the commemoration should be more of an intuitive activity than intellectual. The day should be a day of great joy spent in quiet reflection on who Jesus is, His mission on Earth and the reason for His murder. Through such a reflection, much may awaken in one which could arouse a resolution to strive more towards that which is good.
But today every activity for it appears as if an earthly personality is to be pleased. People concern themselves most with earthly matters: what to eat, entertainment & ceremonies to embark on, visits to make, meetings to plan, host or hold, social activities to indulge in, etc. Even the church embarks more in fund generating activities, Church services filled with intellectual sermons that lead away from the real reason for Christmas, many people who give gifts and alms do so ostensibly, desiring to be notice and to be praised.
Who is Jesus
The core of earthman is spirit, that is what keeps the earthly body of man alife or in motion is spirit. Man is a spiritual being having spiritual core or essence. Is it the same with Jesus?
Let us refer to some narrative that spoke about Him and possibly deduce His personality, His essence.
Micah prophesied birth of a messiah in Bethlehem of Judah (Micah 5:2). The events before, at His birth in Bethlehem and after were significant and awakened in people that a great personality was born: the experiences of Mary, Joseph, Elisabeth sister of Mary, the Shepards, songs of host of Angels, the three wisemen, Simeon’s prayer, Herod’s action, Jesus’ childhood teaching and miracle, etc.
Peter was inwardly moved to say that Jesus is the Son of the living God(Matt 16:17)
John the Baptist said also that Jesus is the Son of God being convinced by the Dove he saw descending & remaining on Him(John 1:32-34)
A voice from Heaven called Jesus my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased after His baptism (Matt 3:17, Mk 1:11), Same voice and same words were heard at His transfiguration (Lk 9:38, Matt 17:5)
Jesus teaching Nicodemus indirectly called Himself Son of God (John 3:1-18)
From these testimonies drawn from the Bible and from those noticeable in other Scriptures, a recognition came that Jesus is really the Son of God. But the concept of Son of God was not properly understood by all and narrowed down to the earthly sense until the Advent of the Grail Message, In the Light of Truth, by Abdrushin.
The Grail Message explained that in the spiritual sense Son means Part, that Son of God means Part of God, that God is Life, Light & Power, that a part of Life, Light & Power bears the same and so can give life, light & power to everyone that consciously cross His path. To others envy and jealousy will awaken in them.
From the Grail Message one becomes strongly convinced that the core of Jesus, that is that which used the earthly body to work on Earth is part of God, is indeed God. God is Unsubstantiate. He cannot be put in any form.
So as a part of God, incarnated in an earthly body, Jesus influenced all that passed by Him in one way or another, either rightly or wrongly. He worked from out of God, with God, for God, by God and in God. As God incarnate He lifted the Earth up and gave the dwellers hope of salvation.
This should indeed be the bases for recalling His coming to the Earth.
Why did He come to the Earth?
It is necessary to go through spiritual development of man on Earth in order to be able to grasp why a part of God left a lofty height for this swamp that is the Earth.
Earthman had experienced many ages is spiritual development filled with spiritual recognitions but kept failing at each of the recognitions and eventually failed to a point that if no help comes from the highest height the Earth must disintegrate prematurely. The failing started after the earthman fell to the temptation of Lucifer, which gradually made him a materialist, an intellectual.
The failure was, at each of the recognitions, due to the wrong use of the gifts given to man for his development on Earth: the spiritual gifts of the intuition, freewill & power to attract and the material gift of the intellect.
These gifts are to enable him explore the Earth in order to gain recognitions, identify the Will of God, obey it & develop to self-conscious Spiritual Personality to uplift the Earth to a realm of Peace.
He grew from the recognition of the Elemental Beings (Nature Beings) from whom he learnt to make use of various elements like earth, water, fire and vegetation for furthering himself & his environment, to the recognition that his thoughts, words and actions are weaved for him to reap by yet another species of Substantiate Beings, to the recognition of of the Lords of the Substantiate Beings like Odin, Olympus, Valhalla,etc. These recognitions were of different levels among the races of the Earth and at each level some stagnate & start deteriorating. Some stagnated at the knowledge of the Elemental Beings, some were able to get to the knowledge of the Lords of the Substantiate Beings.
These stagnations led to deterioration which led to making unhealthy demand from these Beings & worshipping them. So the Beings, abhorring such, withdrew from being seen though still active in their services. With this withdrawal, the volition of man formed images of them which with time, on further deterioration, turned to demons whom man worship & direct their unhealthy & selfish demands to. Evil continued to increase.
The people that did not stagnate developed the urge to seek further and were led to higher knowledge and recognitions & depending on their spiritual maturity to various levels of appreciating the Will of God.
The Will of God inclined most to the Jewish people as the furthest spiritually developed race with Moses as leader who also received the ten commandments of God, and in other races, according to levels of maturity with Krishna, Zoroaster, Lao-tse, Buddha, etc respectively as leader
Still the wrong use of the gifts led to distorting the teachings of these leaders and to stagnation in each. Deterioration continued, wrong acts increased, much more evil arose and it became necessary that another help must come from the highest height if the Earth must be saved.
God, in His love, severed a part of Him & it incarnated on Earth in a physical body prepared for it to work personally at the same time linked to Him in order to lead the earthman out of the swamp to a path leading to salvation and to save the Earth from premature disintegration. Thus Jesus came.
He incarnated among the Jews in order through them His Message of Love & salvation would spread throughout the Earth.
So Jesus mission is to save the world through His teaching. Only those who recognise Him, understand what He taught and live in it strictly will be saved.
But no sooner He was murdered for standing on the side of truth than earthman still through wrong use of his gifts distorted His personality, His teaching & the reason for His coming, and also developed wrong cults of His name, His teaching & His personality. Man too formed cults of parts of His earthly body like His heart, His blood, water from His side, etc
The distortion and the consequent wrong acts increased and kept increasing that now nothing vibrates in the sense willed by God and can only be put aright by a great pressure from on high that will awaken all that is dead(all evil) in order for it to eliminate itself in the experiencing.
Jesus foresaw this great failure and so before His death promise the coming of another who will remind earthman all He taught & further it, and who will also bring judgment (John 16). That is the pressure that will correct everything.
This another so promised is the Holy Spirit also called Son of Man, Imanuel, Comforter and Counselor.
