ogboruDelta State Labour party has passed a vote of no confidence on its Chairman, Mr. Tony Ezeagwu just as he was accused of developing “a sudden mental Amnesia” and “no longer be trusted to lead the merger talks” after setting up a 9-man committee to negotiate with the APC to fuse as one party in Delta “only to make a volte face to tell the press that he is not aware of the merger talks”

A communique issued at the end of an emergency meeting held in Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area today attended by Labour party leaders from all local government areas in the state, signed by the new state Chairman, Evang Ossai Abeh and State Secretary, Tosan Awani announced the transformation of the Chief Great Ogboru faction of the Labour party to the “Light of Labour”

Below are some of the details of the communique:

    1. The sole agenda of the meeting was to review the activities of Mr.Tony Ezeagwu, the state Chairman of Labour Party, who after setting up a 9-man committee to negotiated with the APC to fuse as one party in Delta State made a volte face to tell the press that he is not aware of the merger talks

  1. Therefore the house passed a “vote of no confidence” on Mr. Ezeagwu and declared him a persona non-grata, which means that every member of the party whose signature appears below or who agrees with the merger can no longer hold meeting, private talks or even phone calls with Mr. Ezeagwu.
  2. Furthermore going forward, the house decided that as all the LGA chairmen, secretaries, women leaders, youth leaders and leaders of the party had agreed on 23rd of February 2016 in Obiaruku and again in Warri on 22 April 2016, the decision to continue with the merger of LP and APC is irreversible.

To actualize this, the house decided as follows:

That henceforth the house will be called the “Light of Labour”

That the Chairman of the Light of Labour(LOL) will be Evangelist Ossai Abbey(Delta North Senatorial Chairman LP) and the Secretary will be Mr. Tosan Awani.

That the negotiations with APC will now continue under the name “Light of Labour(LOL) of LP

That the entire structures of the party under the leadership of the house are converted automatically to the Light of Labour from the State, down to the LGA’s and wards. Which means that each Chairman, secretary, Woman leader, Youth Leader, etc of the Stated, LGA and ward excos are automatic members of Points of Light retaining their respective positions as was in the Labour Party.

That all the members and structures of the “Light of Labour” in Labour party have relinquished their membership of the Labour Party and are fusing with the APC under the arrangement of the 9-member committees of both parties, headed by Mr. Fred Okpowhori of APC and Sir Richard Odibo of LP(LOL).

The communiqué was signed by State Chairman, Evang. Ossai Abeh and Tosan Awani, State Secretary
