His convictions are rooted in good conscience, equity, justice, and love for people. As a rule, Ena celebrates people to motivate people. He tells the blunt truth to whoever must hear it. If it hurts you too bad. His political convictions are iron-cast. And he will justify these convictions such that a thoughtful opponent cannot but respect him in his or her ‘quiet time’. When recently he took a very strong position on the Ese Oruru issue in opposition to Festus Keyamo’s unbelievably ill-advised, conformist, and politically-patronizing view, it was clear to many that on the substance, Ena chose to have a conscience that is alive, responsible to the very justice of the matter and on the side of the people. For him, the very humanity of a little girl is involved and people needed to answer his hard questions. Yes, the Urhobo man in Ena came out very strongly because, Ese, his kid sister was taken hostage and her innocence aggressively violated. The same anger that compelled some of us to be personally and practically involved in the matter. But the moral of Ena’s continuing intervention is that many know and trust Ena to do for any other endangered kid what he did and still doing for Ese.
Yes, Ena occupies a significant real life and online dominance that appears to impose on us a sense of guilt for not celebrating him ‘properly’.
