“When someone says they want to kill you, believe them”. This was the advice of a holocaust survivor as re-echoed by Ted Cruz, US presidential aspirant. Like many Jews who did not believe Adolph Hitler and instead supported his campaign of change, history pledges to repeat itself in Nigeria and soon.
In Nigeria, a serving senator by the name Bala Ibn Na’Allah from Kebbi said that all twenty thousand Niger Deltans be eliminated so Nigeria can get access to the oil. He said “it is better for 20 million to die so the rest 150 million can enjoy the oil” Those were the words of this alleged drug pusher senator (he was in NDLEA, a civil servant position And immediately he retired, he bought a private jet and lives in opulence, without any known business.)
Now Rtd Col Hassan, a Buhari security expert (as he refers to himself) in a video stated
that the genocide visited on Odi where women and girls were raped and killed along with the men during Obasanjo era should be revisited on the Niger Delta.
My Niger Delta brother Elder statesman Ojealaro Friday stated that Hassan is not in touch with reality. WAS HITLER? Is what he is saying strange? Is it not an opinion shared by even the president?
The president said in a foreign country recently “It is easy to defeat the Niger Delta” As if there is already a war going on. He declared war on his own people in a foreign land and before the world.
Now not before the world but in the villages, his military heads have threatened Niger Delta communities that the community will be held responsible for pipeline vandalization. NOW WHO DOES THAT IN TODAY’S WORLD? Did GEJ threaten communities in the North to produce Boko Haram or be held responsible? With all the Geneva Conventions and various protocols since World War 11, when have innocent people been made to produce the guilty?
Speaking of innocent and guilty, Buhari just appointed the wife of Retd Supreme court Justice Uwai as his special adviser. The husband’s son and two of his wives are today in Iraq as they left to join ISIS. Did we hold her or the justice “responsible”? How about Muttalab who is today heading the Islamic bank. Was his son not a terrorist attempting to bomb a plane on Christmas day? Who has held him responsible for the actions of his adult son. Now this is family we are talking about. Now the army under Buhari is saying they will hold a PERE (King in Ijaw land) or even the Olu of Warri and the people responsible for pipeline vandalization in their territories. Again, who held Borno people responsible for Chibok or he many killings?
The many killings of Boko Haram is today being reported as “gun men” so it looks like random crime as opposed to clear enemy action by Boko Haram. Yet the peaceful Niger Delta militants who never kill anyone and who just want a share of their oil, Hassan and Buhari and Na’Allah are talking annihilation, genocide and defeat.
Is there really need to defeat the Niger Delta? Is this planned genocidal action a necessity? Buhari himself is trying to negotiate with Boko Haram who have refused. Yar Adua negotiated with the militants and the militants have held up their end of the bargain. Pipelines have largely been safe. No lives are lost in the Niger Delta nor whites kidnapped. GE, Mobil and other companies including Tinubu’s Oando and other companies owned by Atiku, Danjuma, IBB etc are riding free and undisturbed in the Niger Delta. FOR HOW MUCH? A pittance o the youths every month. Scholarships for them to go learn here and abroad. The leadership like Tompolo given contracts by FG to secure the waters. 400 illegal refineries in Bomadi and Burutu destroyed by Tompolo and the JTF working together. And for selling land to the FG perhaps at an exorbitant price, a price not unknown for land in Nigeria in places like Lagos and Abuja, for selling land at a high rate, the peace of the Niger Delta is about to be sacrificed on the altar of vendetta and politics and terrible feckless leadership of Buhari.
Nigeria, under Buhari has taken a loan of 2 billion dollars (600 billion naira) to develop Borno and all such barren lands in the North East. Buhari is looking to grant amnesty and scholarship and such-like to Boko Haram for them to put don their guns. But for an annual budget of 1 billion naira, the whole amnesty program is scrapped and innocent people are to lose their lives as young men, without jobs and without farmlands to plant and without waters to fish, begin to do what anyone will do faced with such hopelessness and starvation. Buhari cannot keep paying 1 billion…maybe two billion tops per year on militants, but will spend 600 billion on Boko Haram and the attendant development on the region…using oil from underneath these militants.
If Buhari removes just one billion from his feeding and eat with 700 million…still 180 million more than what GEJ at with in 2105, if he just ate that little less. We will find the fund for peace in the Niger Delta. Or if he simply renovates his already renovated Aso Rock with 2.9 billion, and channel the rest to safety of pipelines and peace and no loss of life, if he simply continues to give scholarships to the people whose land and water is ruined by pollution, NNPC Kaduna and Port Harcourt will be functioning right now.
Above all, if they simply passed the PIB and give the host community mere ten percent of profit from oil underneath their soil, there will be no clear and present danger to lives and property in the Niger Delta.
And yet Na’Allah and now Hassan says to KILL US ALL.
