The leaders and people of Okerenkoko community, Gbaramatu kingdom in Warri South-West local government have given their total supports to the Economic and Finance Crime Commission, EFCC to probe Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo over the alleged N13b paid by Federal Government for the acquisition of the Maritime University land in the Community.
The leaders who spoke through Chief Micheal Johnny yesterday in Warri, said now that Tompolo has admitted that the alleged N13b was approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Federal Ministry of Lands and Survey, Federal Ministry of Transport, NIMASA, the EFCC should ask Tompolo why Okerenkoko was paid only N360m for the land.
They said Tompolo is not above the law and he should tell Nigerians the whereabouts of the balance of over N12b, urging the EFCC to invite Tompolo and also the immediate former Ministers of the aforementioned ministries and agency to explain their respective roles in the transaction.
The leaders insisted that EFCC should prosecute Tompolo and those involved in the diversion of the funds, recover same and the give to the leadership of Okerenkoko for the development of the community, which was razed down years ago by JTF.
They said, the Buhari-led Federal Government and the leadership All Progressives Congress APC should ignore Tompolo who is only trying to play politics with the misappropriation of the alleged N13b.
According to them, this is a test case of the acting Chairman of EFCC who must ensure that Tompolo and those involved the alleged N13b diversion face the law squarely.
