Like a swarm of flies encircling an illusion
Caravan of dreamers in a barren seek
Of a mirage for an oasis
Thousands throng this edifice
Daily on a vain pilgrimage
Painted in solemnity to entice the lay
Beautiful meadows of tranquil environs
The dome is magnificent, sprawling spire
Braced by nicely sculptured arches
The dais in the sanctuary adorned
With pious looks of priestly robes
Versed in the writings of the sacred Book
To convinced
And confused the uninitiated
Beneath this splendour
Lurks the evil, vinegar for wine
Brews in its heart of sanctuary
Penitentiary
And venomous sermons
Overflow from its fountain
The faithfuls drink to stupor
Eat discord and acrimony
Siblings convert into religious enemy
Their consciences murdered by faith
And the terror in them unleashed
To strangle Love and spill blood
As signage of devoutness
But if GOD is ONE
All issued out of HIS LOVE
Why this evil in us.
