He came in warm appeal
To view the infant rose in dew
In his hand is cradled
Simple gifts that blooms delight
His face cracked in a sunny smile
And the star-eyed nursery lit up
In her little mind’s eye
A hero came by for a play
Trusting the gardner’s hand
Untainted love reach out to him
And in her eyes is captured
The guileless thrill of child-acceptance
The gardner tended sorely
The dewy bloom he should protect
He strafed her tender ovaries
Her ovules burned in scarlet streams
And the bloom thus desecrated
Transformed in shades more years in time
The beauty of the rose brittled
Her innocence ravaged cruelly
And he that robbed the cradle
Rubbed off the child from the bloom
And in her eyes is captured
The sorrows of a twisted world
