The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Dr. Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso, Abe I, JP, OON has disrobed Chief Francis Ogun and barred him for life from being conferred with a chieftaincy title for disobeying the code of conduct which prohibited chiefs from seeking legal redress in disputes concerning one another.
HRM Sideso spoke in Effurun, Delta State today(23/4/2026) when the Umuavbare family led by Chief Roy Oke, the Unuevworo of Ogbe paid a courtesy call on him to thank him for his support throughout the period of the legal challenge
Abe I recalled that when the dispute was taken to court, he advise Francis Ogun to withdraw the case from court as they all from the same family and must learn to live peaceful, and also as a chief it was against the code of conduct for Chiefs but Francis Ogun bluntly refused
Francis Ogun and three others about five years ago had gone to an Effurun High court seeking a declaration that Etche R’Ogbe in Effurun is jointly owned by Uwhe and Onoseri family exclusively but the court held that they failed to establish their case.
