Very Rev father Prof Mark Omorovie Ikeke, the Dean, Abraka Deanery of Catholic Diocese has blamed bad leadership at all levels for the current hardship in the country.
The Priest spoke on Sunday in Effurun during a joint birthday thanksgiving mass at St. Jude Catholic Church, G. R. A. Effurun, for the Uvwie for Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso, Abe 1, JP OON and his wife Patricia, the Nene R’Uvwie who turned 81 and 79 years old respectively.
He attributed the high quality leadership often displayed by the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom to the influence of catholic values saying he had allowed himself to spread the goodness of the Bible and prayed for more positive development in Uvwie.
The Very Rev father Prof Mark Ikeke lamented the lack of justice and righteousness in Nigeria and the rising cost of living. “Nigeria is crying for good leadership. Bad leadership drowning those who are good. If leaders can harness resources in Nigeria, the country will grow and be better.
He prayed for good leadership and reminded the faithfuls about the admonitions by Jesus Christ that they must be watchful because there would be trials and prosecutions.
The Catholic Priest stressed the Importance of thanking God during birthdays urging leaders at various levels to be instrument of justice and righteousness just as he congratulated Uvwie Monarch and his wife on the occasion of their birthdays.
The occasion was attended by several reverend fathers, loyal fathers, political and community leaders.
