The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Emmanuel Ekemejewan Sideso Abe 1, JP. OON has urged his people to join hands with him to sustain the peace and promote prosperity of the kingdom
Abe 1 who spoke while addressing some chiefs and members of the 15th coronation anniversary planning committee at thank a you party said though he might be at the “departure lounge”, but “if it is the Will of God, it is his desire to work for a long time to promote peace and prosperity of his people
He noted that Uvwie people were generally peace loving but for a few perpetually disgruntled and misguided who have become serial petition writers and do not want peace in the kingdom but take delight in inviting outsiders to bring down their own brothers as well as harm them, warning that whatever they sow they will reap abundantly
The Uvwie Monarch said he could continue to pray for his people and urged them to be patience and explore community mechanism is resolving issues instead of allowing themselves to be used to carry out nefarious acts against their own people, saying the community has enough resources to go round if there is peace and love for each other.
According to him, Uvwie people must aspire to be in the driving seats in all aspects of life not just to being satisfied with low level jobs such as sweepers or gate-men in companies stressing that that education is the key.
It will be recalled that an address during the grand finale of the 15th coronation anniversary, Abe 1 regretted the denigration of Uvwie communal value system and norms due to greed, selfishness and avarice. “We have lost our value system which include communication, respect for elders and constituted authorities, love for one another and hard work.
He urged a return to the past and restoration of Uvwie past glory. “We must shun disobedience, lack of respect and remain humble always, the values for which Uvwie people were known.
The Uvwie Monarch also said “the political class must be aware that the traditional institution is to complement them in a mutual or bio-synthetic relationship”
“We both need each other. We are not in rivalry or competitive position. The peace and progress or Uvwie Kingdom depends on very cordial good relationship of traditional institution and the political class”
Earlier the Chairman, 15th coronation anniversary, High Chief Henry Urumedji has thanked HRM Emmanuel Sideso for the opportunity to serve and praise the monarch for his fatherly role in piloting the traditional affairs in Uvwie Kingdom
