The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Emmanuel Sideso, Abe 1, JP. OON has warned trouble makers, and those he described as riff-rat to change their ways and show respect to traditional institutions and elders otherwise they will meet their doom sooner or later.
The Uvwie Monarch who spoke in Effurun during this year’s Uvwie Praise day organized by Uvwie Indigenous Ministers Forum every October 1st urged youths and politicians who use them to desist from their contemptuous ways and embrace peace and orderly development of the community
He said he would continue to support and pray for youths, politicians, others who were ready to serve the community honestly and selflessly explaining that the recent funeral ceremony for the late British monarch had shown that respect for traditional institutions could promote and sustain peace and development in any society.
HRM Sideso thanked the State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his continuous support for the peaceful and human capital development of Uvwie, recalling that when he assumed office his prime agenda was to pursue peace and education for his people and the governor promised to support him
According to him, in the last five years, Governor Okowa has supported the Uvwie Scholarship fund with the sum of N5 million every year saying this has led to about 1500 Uvwie children and others benefiting from the scholarship scheme
Also speaking, the Chairman, Uvwie LGC, Hon. Ramson Onoyake thanked the state governor and the Uvwie Monarch for their support saying that the Gov. Okowa had assured him that after the raining season, the bad roads in Uvwie and other parts of the state would be addressed
He particularly thanked the Uvwie Monarch for his prayers and advice which he said that been a pillar of support for him
The Chairman of the Uvwie Indigenous Ministers Forum, Pastor Joseph Ibe also thanked the state governor and the Uvwie Monarch for their support. He was particularly excited by the numerous projects executed by the state government in Uvwie.
