The Urhobo Elders, Leaders and Stakeholders have called on the Urhobo nation to vote massively for Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, President Mohammadu Buhari and other APC candidates in fulfillment of their pledge late last year at the PTI conference centre, Effurun
In a statement by the group’s Chairman, Chief Patrick Ideh, Secretary, Chief John Ebebu, Publicity/Organising Secretary Chief A. Oduaran, and others, they reminded the Urhobo nation of the various achievements by Senator Omo-Agege with the support of President Buhari
They listed about 25 bills and 45 projects he attracted to the Urhobo nation as well as the empowerment of 6000 (six thousand) women in 20 markets spread across the 8 Local Government Areas in Delta Central. In each market, 300 women who are engaged in petty trading were chosen and were given N20,000 each.
The Urhobo Elders and Stakeholders commended Senator Omo-Agege for the establishment of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Effurun , the on-going dualisation of the Amukpe-Agbor road and the Ewu water project among others
Some of the bills Senator Ovie Omo-Agege facilitated, they said included, a Bill for an Act to Prohibit Sexual Harassment in Educational Institutions and for Matters, the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill 2016, Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999(Amendment) Bill 2016 and Court of Appeal Act (Amendment) Bill 2016
Others are, the National Industrial Court Act (Amendment) Bill 2016, A Bill for an Act to Amend the Company and Allied Matters Act (Amendment) Act, Dormant Accounts Bill, 2016, the Compulsory Hemoglobin – Genotype Screening Bill, a Bill for an Act to Establish the National Electoral Offences Commission and for other Matters Connected thereto, 2017 – co- sponsored with Distinguished Senator Abu Kyari (Borno North) and the Chartered Institute of Shipping of Nigeria (Establishment, etc) Bill, 2018.
