AVENGERS THREAT: NO DIALOGUE PROCESS IS ON-GOING AS CLAIMED BY PA CLARK.
Our attention has been drawn to a false and unfounded claim by Pa Clark that there is already initiated dialogue process between Niger Delta and Federal government when playing host to Rtr Brig. Paul Boroh at his Abuja resident during the weekend.
It is obvious and a surprise for Pa Clark to aver that they should be given time to complete the dialogue process with federal government. For the purpose of public record , we are not aware of any on-going dialogue process between Niger Delta and the government. So Clark should tell us which dialogue he is talking about!
Clark should be reminded that NDA who earlier mandated them to dialogue on behalf of the region has withdrawn their mandate. PANDEF does not have the needed force to prevail on federal government to address Niger Delta demands.
We were taken aback when Clark Claimed that Niger Delta Avengers are impatient. If truely NDA is impatient, then it is correct to say that Clark and his PANDEF were equally impatient when they issue and withdraw their threat without any due consultation ?
It is about a year now when federal government promised a Kangaroo dialogue process, yet nothing has been done about it. Is one year not enough to implement the anticipated dialogue process? Clark should tell us how long should we wait to begin the dialogue process.
CLARK is not honest with the truth when he said the renew threat of Niger Delta Avengers was as a result of abortion or disruption of Portharcourt PANDEF meeting. Such assertions are incredible. We don’t think Avengers threat is connected to the aborted Portharcourt meeting.
It was not correct to say that federal government has regard for PANDEF as claimed by Paul Boroh. As Boroh not aware of federal government refusing to enter dialogue with PANDEF on the basis of lack of credibility? So what regard is he referring to?
NIGER DELTA is not agitating for jobs and palliatives as expressed by Boroh. Buhari should know that no palliative policy will bring final solution to reoccurring crises in Niger Delta, except resource control ,fiscal federalism and restructuring.
We are compelled to say that federal government of Nigeria is not interested about the well being of the aborigines of Niger Delta and that has been the cause for the fresh threat.
We urge Paul Boroh to advice his boss president Buhari to initiate the anticipated dialogue process and ensure that the fresh grievances of the region are address without a delay.
