The family of one of Nigeria’s biggest showbiz guru, Dayo Adeyeye, also known as D1, is currently not experiencing happy moments as his father-in-law, Michael Negbenebor, was kidnapped in Benin, Edo State last Sunday.
Saturday Beats learnt that the kidnappers have demanded for a ransom to be paid but it is unclear if the money has been paid or not. However, Saturday Beats learnt that D1’s in-law, who is also the Chairman, Soccer Group of Companies, and Negbenebor International School has not been released.
When Saturday Beats contacted D1, he kept mum, claiming that he has been advised not to speak on the issue.
He said, “We have been advised by the police not to talk to the press.”
However, prominent Nigerians and stakeholders in the industry have said that their prayers are with the family and have called on the police to ensure the release of D1’s father-in-law.
