The attempt by the Delta state government because of a peaceful protest we embarked upon to stop the Fulani herdsmen from killing our people is satanic and barbaric. My mission statement is to make politics more meaningful to the oppressed and marginalised people of the Niger Delta, I have criticised the APC led federal government without this kind of threat or assault. It is a known fact that when it comes to issues bothering on the collective interest of my people and the Niger Delta region I do not compromise.
It is unfortunate that day in day out I receive threats bothering on my safety because I choose to speak as an Urhobo man. We are witness to how militant leaders and activist of other ethnic nationality day in day out try to bring government at various levels down without threat on thier lives, I as a person have never mix politics with the welfare of my people, it is the height of ignorance and clear sign of schizophrenia to settle with that kind of conception and mentality about my person.
I know the attempted assassination on my life by the government of Delta state is not unconnected with my hard stance against misrule and crass corruption in the Delta state government house. It is absolutely wrong for an oil rich state like Delta to owe workers salary arrears for 13 months without any signs of infrastructural development, yet they try in futility to tell the world they are working.
Be rest assured that i will continue to agitate for a better life for my people believing it is God who owns life and he alone has the power to give or take it.
You may be tempted to believe that any vocal Urhobo man is a sacrificial lamb just like Ogbe and Kelvin but my case even in life or in death will teach some of you a bitter lesson, I believe it is that mindset that made you to send your thugs to maim and kill Urhobo sons and daughters who were led by the Urhobo development and unity forum (UDUF) to Asaba for a peaceful protest.
Let it be known to you for the purpose of emphasis that the Urhobos are the 5th largest ethnic nationality in Nigeria and we can not live as a conquered people in a state where we control absolute majority .we will never allow this assault on the Urhobos to be swept under the carpet until the perpetrators of this assassination attempt are brought to justice.Delta belongs to us all and is time we stand or our right as a people.
