Prayer is a deliberate activity by the human being to get connected to the help which abounds in, and which flows ceaselessly from the Power of the Most High, to ensure the welfare of all creatures, and from which all willing human beings can tap.
Prayer is the living endeavour by us to seek connection with the ever flowing radiant streams of Light, with the Great Power, the Great Omnipotence of the Lord.
We have been told in the scriptures: “Seek and ye shall find, ask and ye shall be given, knock and the door shall be opened unto thee.” Truly, when man seeks, asks or knocks aright, he will definitely be given. That is if he prays aright. For he swings with the Laws of his Creator.
Today almost everywhere on earth, out of the 168 hours in a week, we usually set aside only one hour, or few hours, every Sunday to jointly worship or venerate the Lord and send upwards a litany of petitions, which we describe as prayers.
Even outside this joint hour, either individually or jointly, we indulge in moments of ecstasy, of endless petitions, which we also describe as prayers. Or daily, either individually or jointly, we recite prepared texts of same format, at regular hours and specially also jointly on another specific day.
Still, a part of us employ various other modes of assumed prayers and worship. Other human beings do not even bother themselves about these matters.
It is good to seek help which abounds only in the Power of the Lord; to approach Him humbly either in distress, suffering, pain or joy; or whenever we are in need. His Table is always richly laid, and in great abundance.
However, the truth is that we pray only when we give of ourselves, of our being, in deeds that bring blessings unto the other man, the other woman, our neighbour.
When for each hour of the entire 168 hours in a week, we only think, say and do only what is good to our neighbours. When we do only those things which honour and glorify the Lord in accordance with His Laws Which uphold, direct and rule Creation.
When we make genuine efforts to accord all our thoughts, words and deeds with the Divine Laws.
When we give help to the needy, assist the indigent, when we strive to ease the pains of our neighbours who go through sorrow and hard times of whatever kind; even with ordinary kind and soothing words, with even a hello or a visit.
When we feed the hungry and assuage the thirst of the thirsty; when we spread joy and honey around us; when we do only those things that will contribute to the joy and welfare of our neighbours, and uplift them.
When we give our whole being in the service of our fellow men, without expecting anything in return. When we use the blessings we received during the Joint Hour of Worship, and with which we are specially endowed, to give of ourselves, help and serve our neighbours in the remaining 167 hours of the week, starting from the point we step out of the Hall of Worship.
From where we have just been loaded anew with fresh powers. From where we just emerge after recharging, refueling, or renewing ourselves spiritually.
As man does all these, he prays. At the same time he seeks, asks and knocks aright. By doing all these, he is making a wise use of his abilities as a human spirit to will, decide and move always in accordance with the Law of Movement; and with all the other Laws of the Almighty Father Which govern Creation; and Which express His Holy Will.
And because as a human spirit who is endowed also with the ability to attract, he automatically attracts all that he needs out of the ever ready and ever richly-laden Table of the Lord, Which Stands above Creation.
Because he uses his abilities to perceive, think, say, do and carry out only what is good and brings blessing to others, this particular human being has automatically harmonised him or herself, with the Natural or Divine Laws penetrating the whole Creation, with the vibrations of Love streaming through Creation, and thus with the Volition and Will of the Most High, Which Wills or Wishes only bliss for all His creatures, human beings inclusive.
Thus, without even uttering a word of petition, which we described as prayer, he has prayed in deeds as rightly he should.
His good deeds out of genuine love, have elicited gratitude from recipients of his goodness, of his kindness. And this gratitude has risen up to the Throne of Grace, to the Almighty Father from where reciprocally, blessing rains down on him. In line with all the Laws governing Creation.
Especially with the fundamental Laws of Reciprocal Action, Attraction of Homogeneous Species and Spiritual Gravitation.
Such a human being needs not indulge himself in lifeless, endless hours of petitioning, which we erroneously regard as praying. Or in endless hours of fasting, denying the body of food and drinks, of necessary nourishment, maltreating and destroying our bodies in the process, thinking erroneously that we are serving and pleasing the Lord thereby.
And by thinking, doing and carrying out only what is good, all the numerous servants of the Lord populating the whole Creation in a chain running down from above, from Paradise, and even reaching up higher, have identified this particular human being as one of them.
The Laws of Creation have recognised him as a reliable servant. He has thus made himself a trustee of the Laws of the Almighty Father.
As such, all the servants of the Lord in Creation, the beings and the Laws will work to protect him, serve him and load him daily with fresh gifts, with all his needs, confident that he will use them aright. That like them, he will use these gifts only to bring blessing to the other human beings and creatures, to serve the Most High.
We should therefore note that when we serve the other man genuinely in accordance with the Laws, we indeed serve ourselves. Only ourselves. This is the best way to serve the Almighty, Who rewards us reciprocally in His Laws.
Of what use is it when we harbour thoughts of bitterness, hatred, envy, wickedness, un-forgiveness, vendetta, vengeance, murder and all sorts of evil against our neighbours as we jointly worship; and execute these evils the moment we step out of the Room of Worship.
Unfortunately, these mainly, are what we generally do either individually or collectively in the 167 hours of the week, which we devote to doing our personal wishes.
If really we want to pray aright henceforth, we should learn from the example laid down by the Son of God Jesus Christ in the Masterpiece Which He left with us in His enduring Legacy called “The Lord’s Prayer.”
In fact, we will draw immense help from how the Master, the Saviour, taught us to pray.
