The President General of Ofagbe Progress Union a community in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Matthew Akpofa has bemoaned the state of Ofagbe,Egwe-Igbuku and Ofagbe, Awah/Okorafor, Iyede-Ame roads which according to him are in a pitiable condition that require urgent attention so as to enable peasant farmers evacuate their farm produce.
He maintained that, the roads which are in a deplorable state are too bad for farmers farming in the area, adding that, the worrisome of the two roads which are about 9kilometers each have hindered the economic activities of the farmers farming in the area
In his words: “Constructing the aforementioned roads will assist our local farmers in bringing their farm products from the neighbouring villages which will go a long way to reduce poverty and ease transportation on the parts of those living in those villages”.
Hon Matthew Akpofa also decried the state of out-dated facilities in the Ofagbe health centre which needs to be replaced by the State government just as he requested for another medical doctor to be posted to the health as well as shortage of teachers in the Ofagbe Technical College and Oketa Grammar School and renovation of some of the dilapidated structures in the Grammar which needs government urgent attention though he commended the State Governor for the general renovation of OFATECH,
He sued for attention at Ofagbe in the areas of health and that of the Grammar School, appreciating the State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on the reviving of the Ofagbe Technical College and had described as a laudable development.
The PG also commended the Reps Minority Leader representing Isoko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Leo Ogor who facilitated the reconstruction and expansion of the Isoko ring road as well as the Federal Government, over the expansion/ reconstruction of the Isoko ring road which will take-off from Ofagbe through Orie, Idheze down to Ozoro which is currently under construction.
