The people of Niger Delta region in Southern Nigeria have congratulated Donald Trump on his historical election victory in the keenly contested election between Hillary Clinton, democratic party candidate and also requested that Nigerian government be sanctioned for committing genocide, war crimes and humanitarian crisis in Niger Delta region, especially in Gbaramatu Kingdom, and Ayakoromo community in Ngbelebri Kingdom.
Speaking on behalf of Niger Delta region, a Niger Delta activist and president Ijaw People’s Development initiative, IPDI, Comrade Austin Ozobo said that Trump victory would provide fresh air for the oppressed in the world.
Ozobo further stressed that Trump victory is well deserved, “it is a victory for the Niger Delta people and would promote new hope for the oppressed, looking for freedom in the continent of Africa.
The region said that Trump victory as the 45th President elect in the history of America shows that there is hope for the downtrodden, a prove that no condition is permanent. “If Trump who is not a politician, neither member of the ruling America cabal could be elected as President, then there is something to hope about Niger Delta freedom”
The activist further said that been who Trump is, he will not allowed Nigeria government to arm twist America government against the oppressed people of Niger Delta as usually done in previous governments.
The region said Trump would create an enabling environment for the oppressed and those seeking for freedom like Niger Delta and Biafra in Southern Nigeria to breath fresh air once again.
They said Niger Delta region would support Trump America government to enable him succeeded in governance.
Meanwhile, the region appealed with Donald Trump, America president elect to come to the aid of the oppressed Niger Delta people in a view of ending exploitation and militarization in the region and equally sanction Nigerian government for committing genocide, war crimes and humanitarian crisis in Gbaramatu kingdom and other places in Niger Delta region.
