Just this last Saturday… I travelled to my home town for my late uncle’s burial. While in the church, the Rev. Spoke about the judgement and the separation of the sheep and the goat. And that picture really got me reflecting on this question. Am I a sheep? or am I a
goat?
Now, it’s funny The Lord will use sheeps and goats to describe the separation in the Judgement. The more I reflected on this, the clearer the deep significance came to me.
If you look at the two animals, you will notice a world of difference between them.
The sheep is gentle animal. Nothing mischievous about it and the most remarkable thing you notice is their willingness to heed and follow instructions. If you beat a sheep from going to a place.. It never returns to the place. They are usually very neat and don’t smell… They are not destructive and usually don’t put themselves in harms way.
Unlike the goat… Ewure in Y
oruba. Very stubborn looking things with their small horns. They never heed your instructions. It’s where you don’t want them to go you keep finding them. What you don’t want them to eat, they keep finding how to go there. They smell, especially the very short ones. They like too much sex, chase after their she-goats even when she’s not interested. they fight each other and can be noisy.
So why will people be classified as sheep’s and goat’s?
Aren’t we? Think about it.
The human spirit who Trust and obey the Words and instruction of his LORD and seeks to heed His every Commandments is like a sheep. Such a human spirit is gentle and childlike, trusting in his Master and very obedient.
But you are a GOAT if you follow your self will and do thinks the way you like. The Lord says.. Don’t do this… And it’s that very thing you want to put your head and entire body into. Isn’t this happening to us. How we constantly ignore clear instructions and follow our own understanding. Aren’t we fighting each other, chasing each other?
Are you pure, childlike and beautiful like the sheep? Or are you smelly and naughty as the goat? This is the 87th Year into the Cosmic turning point.
So what are you?
