Chief(Barrister) Victor Otomiewo, the Usiavwe of Ekpan, Uvwie local government council has alleged that some people he described as “the govs boys” including a popular aide to Delta state Gov Ifeanyi Okowa are threatening to kidnap and kill him.
In a test message he sent out to some prominent Uvwie sons and his friends, Chief Otomiewo gave names and details about those planning to kill him saying, “Sir, I have received several threats of violence to my person, family and properties in the last two weeks from persons who claimed they are boys of the governor. Those who identified themselves are(names of the accused). Others simply call unanimously”
And today, Chief Otomiewo posted on his facebook page. “To those who have been calling and threatening to assassinate, kidnap, and / or use the police and soldiers to arrest and detain me on sundry and unfounded allegations of murder and/or kidnapping ,you know where to find me if you are serious. You can be sure, I am not scared one bit. I’m ready to avail you with my daily movement to make your plans easy. No human being on earth can intimidate me from living by the divine truth. I shall stand and speak boldly on any issue of common interest till I die. At 60yrs,I have nothing to lose. I’ll rather be a free man in my grave than live as a puppet or a slave to power, material property or filthy wealth. I wish my traducers God mercy.”
It will be recalled also that Chief Otomiewo recently in a petition to the EFCC and the National Assembly against the Army on behalf of the Uvwie traditional council and landowners alleged that some army officers sold Uvwie land acquired for public purposes for billions of naira
