HRM Dr. Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso, Abe I, JP. OON has charged the Delta State Universal Basic Education Board(SUBEB), Asaba to ensured that all state schools are fenced and adequate security provided before handing over to the local authorities
Abe 1 who spoke in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State today(3/4/2024) when the SUBEB Chairman, Hon. Samuel Mariere and some members of the board paid a courtesy call on him, stressed that the state government must fenced and provide security before the local authorities should take responsibility from the next stage
The Uvwie monarch was reacting to a statement by the SUBEB chairman, Hon Mariere that the government would not repair any state school vandalised in any community as local authorities must take responsibility in securing and protecting government assets located in their community
He expressed sadness that many state schools were being vandalised with impunity without any action being taken by the local authorities and urged traditional leaders to set up vigilantes to protect state assets particularly schools located in their community.
