The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso has appealed to the federal government to establish a police area command in Uvwie being the most cosmopolitan and industrial area in Delta state
The Uvwie Monarch who spoke when he received the wife of the Inspector General of Police(IGP), Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun said that the crime rate in Uvwie was very high being the commercial nerve centre of Delta state.
He said though he had succeeded in stabilizing the situation with the setting up of a security committee made up of devise ethnic group, a police command in the area would go a long way in complimentary his achievements
Abe 1 said without peace and security there would not be development and commended police officers posted to area for their excellent efforts
He said Uvwie would continue to pray for the IGP Kayode Ekpetokun and his wife for success in the huge task of maintaining peace and security in Nigeria
Responding, Mrs. Elizabeth Ekpetokun promised to add her voice for the creation of an area command in Uvwie.
She commented HRM Emmanuel Sideso for creating the enabling environment to blend modernity and tradition as well as ensuring peace and security.
She was accompanied during the courtesy call by senior police officers and their wives
