The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso, Abe 1, JP, OON has described the Delta State Commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr. Sonny Ekedayen as a child with good pedigree and one of the few political appointees to recognize his background as well as honour the traditional institutions
Abe 1 spoke in his palace in Effurun, Uvwie LGA of Delta State yesterday when, Mr. Sonny Ekedayen led some PDP chieftains and his family members to pay a courtesy call on the Uvwie Monarch to thank him for his support when he was appointed commissioner
HRM Sideso said, Mr Ekekayen prompt visit to the palace despite the fact that he did not know much about him and desire to show appreciation to the traditional institution was a demonstration of a good family background stressing that as a father, he would continue to pray for the progress of all Uvwie people regardless of political party.
He expressed happiness that most of the misguided youths who often give the community a bad name have now decided to depart from rascality and evil adding that Uvwie was blessed with great potentials.
The monarch thanked and prayed for the state governor, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori for remembering Uvwie and prayed also for more Uvwie sons to ascend to prominent political positions like governors and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr. Sonny Ekedayen explained that his visit to the palace was to show appreciation for the support given to him by HRM Emmanuel Sideso since his appointment
He thanked the monarch for his peace mantra and the new perspective he had brought to Uvwie Kingdom adding that HRM Sideso’s experience would soon be felt in other part of Urhoboland following his election as the Chairman of Urhobo Traditional Rulers forum
