Free, Fair Elections Will Guaranteed Peace and Order in Nigeria – Uvwie Monarch

The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Emmanuel Sideso, Abe !, JP. OON has said peace and order in Nigeria will be achieved with the emergence of a new and competent government through a free and fair election

The Monarch who spoke recently during the extra ordinary general assembly meeting of the south-south monarchs’ forum in Yenegoa said as non-partisan traditional rulers, they was need to bring forward their influence to enlighten and direct the people, particularly youths on the way forward towards proper conduct during the general elections

According to him, the youths must be advised to shun any offer of arms and reprehensible inducements by mischievous and selfish politicians to carry out criminal activities on their behalf

HRM Sideso said it was worrisome seeing the frustration people go through to register to vote and collect their permanent voters cards(PVC) and appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) to do all that was necessary by ensuring that eligible voters are not disenfranchised

He stated that INEC should seek the assistance of traditional rulers in remote areas where there were peculiar transportation challenges to ensure early arrival of voting materials on elections days

On the CBN new cash policy, the Uvwie monarch noted that whatever good intended by the policy, it seems there was need for review to avoid inflicting on the people unnecessary financial crisis during this period.

He added: “all Nigerians are suffering the consequences of absurd and grave moral decline in the society. I am of the opinion that we should resolve to make our lights shine on our communities to bring back love, unity and progress”
