\nBoko Haram is not fighting for anything
\nother than the seizure of political power
\nby the Fulani people. They are using
\nKanuri territory to perpetrate the evil,
\nbut the main people instigating this
\nbloodletting are the Fulani from Futa
\nDjallon. We know where they came from.
\nThey are colonialists and if we made the
\nBritish to leave, what are these people
\ndoing here? They are also colonialists.
\nYou have to reflect and ask yourself
\nsome questions.
\nKano is a Hausa city, the Emir of Kano is
\nnot a Hausa man; he is a Fulani. Ilorin
\nis a Yoruba city, the Emir of Ilorin is a
\nFulani. Bida is a Nupe town, the Emir of
\nBida is a Fulani. Birnin Gwari is a Gbagi
\ntown, the Emir of Birnin Gwari is a
\nFulani. The Lamido of Adamawa who is
\nresiding in Yola is a Fulani, who claims
\nhe has other Fulanis in Cameroon and
\nother places. These are not Fulani cities.
\nWe know where they all came from.
\nThey all migrated from far-flung places
\nto their present locations. So if we know
\nwhere they come from and we know that
\nthey are not from here, they came to
\ncolonise these territories. What are they
\nstill doing here? If the British left, the
\nFrench left, the Germans left, the
\nPortuguese left, the Belgians left, what
\nare these people doing here? They are
\nalso colonialists, but this is what our
\nelites are ready to accept.
\nWhy should we allow foreigners to
\ndominate the aborigines? When people
\nlike us talk, they say these are very
\nsensitive issues, don\u2019t touch them. Why
\nshould we not touch them? Why should
\nthe Sultan of Sokoto be the head of
\nMuslims in Nigeria? Where did we meet
\nand make the Sultan our head? So these
\nare the things. But a lot of people don\u2019t
\nlook beyond the surface. A man says he
\nis born to rule; you have not asked
\nyourself, if that man is born to rule,
\nwhat about you? If the man is born to
\nrule, you are born to be ruled.
\nSo you become drawers of water and
\nhewers of wood. A wise man in one of
\nthe great books I have read said: For I
\nhave seen a grave injustice on the
\nsurface of the earth that I saw the
\nservants riding on horseback and princes
\nwalking on foot. The Hausa man in Kano
\nis walking on foot; Sanusi, a Fulani man,
\na Gambari from Guinea is riding on
\nhorseback.
\nFulani Sulu-Gambari in Ilorin is riding
\non horseback. These are the issues that
\nwe\u2019ve not been able to capture. Why
\nshould injustice continue? Why should
\nthe indigenous Hausa population in Kano
\nnot be given back what rightfully belongs
\nto them? Why is it that in Ilorin, the
\nindigenous Yoruba people, the ones they
\ncall Baba Agba, are not given back what
