At\u00a0least 15 people have been killed and two Boko Haram terrorists arrested in fresh attack on a village in Borno state yesterday.<\/p>\n

The terrorists reportedly stormed the remote village of Mussa in Askira\/Uba local government area (LGA) of Borno state at about\u00a08pm\u00a0last night.<\/p>\n

According to Sahara Reporters, local witness said the terrorists started throwing explosives at civilians, killing at least 11 people and wounding many others.<\/p>\n

Boko Haram had previously planted improvised explosive devices (IEDs) along the roads connecting Mussa-Wambio villages.<\/p>\n

Local vigilante groups who came to rescue Mussa\u2019s residents encountered the IEDs which subsequently detonated, killing four vigilantes and injuring six others.<\/p>\n

The six injured vigilantes are currently receiving treatment at Uba General Hospital.<\/p>\n

A Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) source in Mussa district said two suspected Boko Haram members have been arrested in possession of some provisions stolen from the village yesterday.<\/p>\n

Mussa has been subjected to brutal Boko Haram attacks before<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt was around\u00a08pm\u00a0last night when Boko Haram attacked us. We engaged them but later they\u00a0started throwing explosives at civilians and our members,\u201d <\/em>he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey killed nine people including three children and scores were wounded.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

He added after Boko Haram ransacked the village, they looted foodstuffs and livestock from the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is just unfortunate that our people have started coming ahead of rain season these bad people came and attacked us again.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The group is becoming more desperate as its food supplies run out<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He disclosed that Civilian JTF members had gone after them today and arrested two suspects in Kilisha village in Damboa LGA.<\/p>\n

Yesterday\u2019s assault is not the first time Mussa has been attacked by Boko Haram.<\/p>\n

In July last year the terror group carried out an attack that killed more than 53 people in Mussa, injuring dozens more.<\/p>\n

It is unclear whether yesterday\u2019s attack was linked to the arrest of a Boko Haram gun runner in the village.<\/p>\n
