The Gbaramatu Traditional Council in Warri South-West Local Government
\nArea, Delta State today installed the 26th\u00a0 King, HRM. Pere Naira
\nWilliams Ogoba, Oboro\u00a0 II\u00a0 for the Kingdom.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the newly enthroned Gbaramatu monarch, HRM. Pere Naira
\nWilliams Ogoba Oboro II who spoke Izon language charged his subjects
\nto be united and peaceful stressing that, \u201c it is only with unity and
\npeace that the people can grow.”<\/p>\n

Former Regent of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Chief Patrick .T. Heavens who
\nspoke of behalf of the Kingdom appealed to the Federal Government of
\nNigeria not to see the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom as \u201cantagonists\u201d \u201c
\nenemies of progress\u201d \u201c troublemakers\u201d rather as peacemakers in the
\ncountry.<\/p>\n

While noting the significance of the enthronement and crowning of the
\nnew Gbaramatu King, Chief Heavens said with the reign of of its new
\nmonarch, the kingdom will be promoting and contributing to the
\nexisting peace in Gbaramatu Kingdom , the Niger Delta and Nigeria in
\nGeneral just as he gave the assurance that there will be no problems
\nemanating from the area stressing that the people of Gbaramatu are
\npeacemakers.<\/p>\n

He noted\u00a0 that High Chief Oweizide Government Ekpemupolo a.k.a,
\nTompolo has contributed to the peace in Gbaramatu Kingdom and the
\nNiger Delta stressing that with the enthronement of the new King the
\npeace process continues.<\/p>\n

According to Chief Heavens, \u201cFirst and foremost, we are peacemakers,
\nGbaramatu\u00a0 will be promoting peace .Secondly they should be expecting
\nthat Gbaramatu will be contributing peace . There will be no problem
\nand therefore, one of the key peacemakers in this part of the world
\nparticularly from Gbaramatu in the Niger Delta is High Chief
\nGovernment Ekpemupolo Alias Tompolo . He is part and parcel of
\npeacemaking . With the enthronement and crowning of a new king today
\nthe peace process continues and therefore Government should not see us
\nas antagonist\u00a0 and enemies of progress nor troublemakers but as
\npeacemakers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chief Heavens charged the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom to live in
\nharmony and peace with one another as well as give their support to
\nthe new King to enable him attract the desired development to their
\nland.<\/p>\n

The Bolowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom , Chief Wellington Okirika CON who
\nhailed the installation of the new King said the Nigerian Government
\nshould be grateful to Gbaramatu kingdom for having High Chief Oweizide
\nGovernment Ekpemupolo whom he christened as a \u201cpeacemaker\u201d who has
\nbrought peace and fairness in the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.<\/p>\n

Chief Okirika, a former Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing
\nAreas Development Commission, DESOPADEC assured the Federal Government
\nof Nigeria of peace from Gbaramatu Kingdom which according to him will
\n\u201cpervade the whole of the Niger Delta\u201d pointing out that a peacemaker
\ncould sometime be misunderstood.<\/p>\n

The Mobilizer of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Chief Godspower Gbenekama said the
\npeople of Gbaramatu Kingdom cannot wish High Chief Oweizide Government
\nEkpemupolo alias Tompolo away to the hands of their enemies because of
\nhis contributions to peace in their land.<\/p>\n

Chief Gbenekama attributed the selection, election and subsequent
\nenthronement of the new Gbaramatu monarch to the contributions which
\nHigh Chief Oweizide Government Ekpeupolo alias, Tompolo put in place
\nfor the Kingdom.<\/p>\n

Chief Gbenekama noted that Tompolo who has attracted peace and
\ndevelopment to the area, controls the Kingdom and there is peace in
\nthe land.
\nChief Gbenekama said the newly enthroned crowned monarch will partner
\nthe Federal Government of Nigeria\u00a0 with a view to bringing lasting
\npeace and development to Gbaramatu and the Niger Delta region.<\/p>\n

Chief Gbenekama said the enthronement of the new King crowns the
\nefforts of the Gbaramatu people at ensuring lasting peace in their
\nland adding that the new monarch is ever ready to work with the
\nFederal Government on any matter especially concerning peace.<\/p>\n

In his words, \u201cI am by far his senior but\u00a0 he is a young man I have
\nknown\u00a0 for a very long time . Sometimes, we wonder at the innovations
\nand the struggle to maintain peace in the Niger Delta . We wonder how
\nhe comes about those innovations. So, the young man Government
\nEkpemupolo is a man that wants peace. That we are having a king in
\nGbaramatu Kingdom is a result of his contributions\u00a0 to this place. He
\nmay not be present here, but his contributions to making sure that
\nthere is a king that controls the kingdom and there is peace in the
\nkingdom cannot be over-emphasized. He is useful to us . He is a man of
\nthe people and I say he is still very much respected by his people,
\nloved by his people. We shouldn\u2019t be carried away with the fools that
\nmake noise all over the place. Wea are in Oproza now, look around
\ncan\u2019t you see the happiness and joy around the area? This young man
\nhas contributed a lot to peace and development in our clan. We cannot
\nwish him away, we cannot at any point say we don\u2019t like him. We love
\nhim.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chairman of Kokodiagbene Community, Comrade Sheriff Mulade hailed the
\nenthronement of the new king called on him to him to unite the entire
\nGbaramatu people , be law abiding , obey his people as well as work
\nwith Government at all levels to bring the desired development to
\nGbaramatu people.<\/p>\n

Comrade Mulade also commended the selection, election process for the
\ntraditional stool which he also described as the best.
\n\u201c it is an historic event for all of us. if the selection process was
\nnot normal, you won\u2019t see many of us and we are all here to show our
\nconcern.<\/p>\n
