{"id":772,"date":"2014-08-23T10:49:07","date_gmt":"2014-08-23T10:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=772"},"modified":"2014-08-23T10:49:07","modified_gmt":"2014-08-23T10:49:07","slug":"nigerian-boy-commits-suicide-in-essex-ne-london-over-poor-gsce-result","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=772","title":{"rendered":"Nigerian Boy Commits Suicide In Essex NE London Over Poor GSCE Result"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/df.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-773\" alt=\"df\" src=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/df-300x199.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/df-300x199.jpg 300w, http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/df.jpg 615w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A young man has killed himself few hours after collecting his GSCE examination result.<\/p>\n<p>The student identified as 16-year-old Temidayo Joseph reportedly took his own life because he was afraid of bad judgement from his Nigerian parents.<\/p>\n<p>Though police are yet to confirm the official cause of Temidayo\u2019s death, his friend said he was heartbroken after collecting his exam results from Ockendon Academy near Thurrock in Essex on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>He reportedly left the school immediately without speaking a word before his lifeless body was found in a wooded area around the school with self-inflicted wounds.<\/p>\n<p>His school has released a statement about his death;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is with great sadness we have to tell you of the death of one of our students, 16-year-old Temidayo Joseph.We wish to extend our deepest sympathy for Dayo\u2019s family, friends and the whole school community at this difficult time.To help people come to terms with this tragic event, the academy will offer its fullest support and counselling.Of course our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.The Academy will be open on Saturday 23rd August from 9am to 11am for those members of our community who wish to pay their respects to Dayo Joseph.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Parents need to understand that you can\u2019t judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree. The pressure of being African has hit him hard.<\/p>\n<p>When you find out something and it doesn\u2019t hit you at first.
