Your spectacular commitment in the development of our cher\u00adished values of democracy in Ni\u00adgeria and Africa is legendary. On the African political landscape, you are, indeed, a rare breed. Your name shall always be writ\u00adten in gold whenever the history of Nigeria is being dispassion\u00adately studied or analysed.\u201d<br \/>\nContinuing further, Shagari said, \u201cI watched with keen in\u00adterest when a few days ago, my friend, the former US President, Mr Jimmy Carter, showered praises on Your Excellency. Your incredible achievements have done pride to both Nigeria and Africa. He was the first US President to visit our beloved nation. I had the privilege of visiting him in the White House when I was Presi\u00addent of our country.<br \/>\nThis equally credible testimo\u00adny from such a global political figure has done lasting honour on you, our nation and Africa\u201d, observed Shagari.<br \/>\n\u201cIt has endeared you to all and has also assured your de\u00adserved place in the annals of nations.
