ABEOKUTA\u2014The People\u2019s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State, yesterday boasted that\u00a0it would unseat the incumbent governor Ibikunle\u00a0 Amosun\u00a0 in the 2015 election, claiming the calibre of governorship aspirants in the party was a pointer that\u00a0 Amosun was on his way out of the office.<\/p>\n

The state Chairman, Bayo\u00a0 Dayo spoke at the party\u2019s secretariat in Abeokuta, while receiving a letter of intent\u00a0 from\u00a0 a\u00a0lawmaker representing Yewa South\/Ipokia Federal constituency in Ogun State\u00a0 at the House Representatives, Abiodun Akinlade, to run for the governorship seat in 2015.<\/p>\n

Chief Dayo however, denied that the party had chosen its governorship candidate, promising that every aspirant would be given a level playing field during the primaries ahead of the general election.
\nThe chairman, who described\u00a0\u00a0 Akinlade as a strong politician who could give the party its desired victory in the coming election, assured that PDP would be fair to all aspirants.<\/p>\n

According to him, \u201cNo decision has been taken on any elective positions. I am assuring everyone that when we are going to have our party primaries, I will be transparent and honest to all. All aspirants would be given a level playing field. I am not going to take side with any aspirants.<\/p>\n

I have told all the State Working Committee, SWC members that we are all referees and an umpire must not take side. We are going to be fair to all\u201d.<\/p>\n

Akinlade while presenting his letter of intent to the\u00a0 chairman, in the presence of members of the SWC, tasked leaders of PDP in the\u00a0 State to settle their differences and work hard so that the party could win all the elective positions in the state in the 2015 general elections.<\/p>\n

According to Akinlade, \u201cgovernment is about the people, any government that does not have human face is not a government. The state can get better than what it is now. By God\u2019s grace, in 2015, PDP will return to Oke Mosan. I came to present my letter of intent to be your servant in 2015, with the support of the leadership of our party, our supporters and the people of Ogun State, Amosun is on his way out. If I am given the governorship ticket, I will deliver 99 percent of the votes cast to PDP.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
