\nBishop Mike Okonkwo, \u00a0has criticized Bishop Oyedepo and other Pastors for exempting Pastor Yemi Osinbajo from a meeting of Christian leaders held recently at\u00a0the Redeemed Christian Church of God\u00a0on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway .<\/p>\n

Okonkwo according to \u00a0Sahara Reporters, lambasted\u00a0the meeting for not inviting Pastor\u00a0Yemi\u00a0Osinbajo\u00a0who himself \u00a0is a Christian leader and pastor.<\/p>\n

Okonkwo said the least the Christian leaders could\u00a0have done was \u00a0to invite\u00a0Osinbajo\u00a0and hear from him, adding that not doing that\u00a0was\u00a0\u201can act of cowardice.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

Bishop Oyedepo however did not take kindly to that suggestion from\u00a0a\u00a0Bishop of equal caliber,\u00a0and demanded an apology from Okonkwo, but Okonkwo, equally annoyed, insisted\u00a0on his position\u00a0and\u00a0refused to offer\u00a0an apology at the tension-filled meeting.<\/p>\n

It was also gathered that Bisshop\u00a0Oyedepo\u00a0maintained his advocacy for President Jonathan at the meeting\u00a0at times in vehement anger and outright disrespect for the opposing views of the other pastors.<\/p>\n

A leading Bishop from the North spoke up against the plans of\u00a0Oyedepo\u00a0and\u00a0Oritsejafor\u00a0to mobilize support for the president.<\/p>\n

Christian leaders in the North have always criticized the lust of some Southern Christian leaders for material things making them not to empathize with the sufferings of the Christians in the North, who are facing persecution.<\/p>\n

Bishop Jonas\u00a0Katung\u00a0of the\u00a0Maranatha\u00a0Churchin, Jos, explained\u00a0that President Jonathan\u00a0has\u00a0done nothing in the past four years deserving of a second term.\u00a0Katung,\u00a0who is\u00a0known as\u00a0the Lion of Jos, was ordained\u00a0Bishop in Jos by\u00a0RCCG\u2019s\u00a0Pastor E.A.\u00a0Adeboye\u00a0in 2013.<\/p>\n

He strongly advocated\u00a0that the\u00a0Buhari-Osinbajo\u00a0ticket should be given a chance\u00a0given\u00a0the level of failure of the incumbent.<\/p>\n

Pastor Mathew\u00a0Kasali\u00a0of\u00a0the Foundation of Truth Assembly in Lagos also spoke passionately at the meeting, calling on the Christian leaders to remain neutral and not become encumbered with partisan issues for\u00a0any reason.\u00a0He also supported Bishop Okonkwo that Pastor\u00a0Osinbajo, \u201cwho is one of us,\u201d<\/i> should be allowed to address the meeting.<\/p>\n

A source at the meeting disclosed that the national clamor for change in the country as being captured by the\u00a0Buhari-Osinbajo\u00a0ticket has now become a source of great fear by several Christian leaders in the Southern part of the country, essentially because of their own selfish interests.<\/p>\n

He asked in disappointment,\u00a0\u201cWhere is the fear of God in the lives of some of these leaders?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

It would be recalled that Pastor Tunde Bakare \u00a0has also criticised CAN and PFN for endorsing President Goodluck Jonathan for the 14 February presidential election at the expense of one of their own, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the running mate to the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/b>Bakare said that\u00a0\u201ca prophet is sent to bring change not build consensus,\u201d \u00a0<\/i>adding that\u00a0\u201cwhenever you compromise what is right in order to gain acceptance with men, you lose acceptance with God.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
