{"id":3995,"date":"2015-01-10T10:46:49","date_gmt":"2015-01-10T10:46:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=3995"},"modified":"2015-01-10T10:46:49","modified_gmt":"2015-01-10T10:46:49","slug":"lmao-broom-sellers-praise-buhari-for-staging-campaign-in-bayelsa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=3995","title":{"rendered":"LMAO!: Broom Sellers Praise Buhari For Staging Campaign In Bayelsa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/image30.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3996\" alt=\"image30\" src=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/image30-300x171.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"171\" srcset=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/image30-300x171.jpg 300w, http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/image30.jpg 590w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Broom sellers in Yenagoa, Bayelsa, have commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) for organizing its presidential rally in the state, saying it sparked a boom to their business.<\/p>\n<p>The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the party held its presidential rally on Jan. 8 ahead of the 2015 general elections.<\/p>\n<p>A survey conducted by NAN revealed that the price of broom skyrocketed in some areas of the state within the period of the rally.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the traders on Friday in Yenagoa told NAN that the rally was a welcome development to their business.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Patrick Ikpeazu, a seller at Obelle, Ovom Community, Yenagoa Local Government Area, told NAN that the brooms within the period were sold between N150 and N250 each, depending on the size.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight now, the price has turned back to the previous price of N80 and N100, but I must say that APC as a party has turned around broom business, not only in Bayelsa but most parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe business was good within the period of rally, I sold all my brooms and I thank God for the day and the opportunity for us.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe did not hike the price to the detriment of APC presidential rally in the state but we did it for us to have a livelihood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI travelled as far as Imo state to purchase the brooms and I have to think on what price to sell, so that I can make a little gain,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>Another seller in Swalli Market, Mrs Mercy Kuro, explained that the business boomed at the period and also commended APC rally in the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe price was not high; selling broom between N150 and N200 was not too big for such big occasion and you know that broom is the symbol of the party,\u2019\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Timipa Tiwei, the state APC Chairman, said that broom was a good symbol and would be used to sweep in development in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe broom is a symbol for change and our great party is a moving train for change,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Broom sellers in Yenagoa, Bayelsa, have commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) for organizing its presidential rally in the state, saying it sparked a boom to their business.
