Their message is clear: \u201cDo not touch animals or eat bush meat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Everyone in the town knows that the virus is close \u2013 and that they are vulnerable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you eat bush meat and you have contracted Ebola \u2013 if you have had it for some time \u2013 within 48 or even 24 hours you will die,\u201d says Dimonade Aubin, the chief of Silipou district.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDeath is there. It\u2019s a disease without a cure. It\u2019s that serious.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It could arrive at any moment\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The roads in Sipilou have been quiet for the past few weeks \u2013 day-to-day life has ground to a halt. The border with Guinea hasn\u2019t officially closed but, in reality, few people are crossing over.<\/p>\n<p>Health centres are already set up to treat suspected cases. Everyone is on high alert and there have already been some false alarms. But so far all the test results have been negative.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt could arrive at any moment,\u201d says Regional Health Director Doctor Seydou Doumbia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA week ago, we were called. So we arrived with all our protective equipment.
