{"id":25664,"date":"2021-04-05T05:48:12","date_gmt":"2021-04-05T05:48:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=25664"},"modified":"2021-04-05T05:48:12","modified_gmt":"2021-04-05T05:48:12","slug":"echoes-from-golgothaby-sola-adeyegbe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=25664","title":{"rendered":"ECHOES FROM GOLGOTHA\u2026by Sola Adeyegbe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/alternativeadvert.com\/show.php?z=30&amp;pl=19271&amp;ad_type=81&amp;rl=1800\" width=\"336\" height=\"280\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">As recorded in The Bible, the following were the Last Words spoken by Jesus as He endured the gruesome hours at Golgotha:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">1.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Father forgive them, for they know not what they do (Luke 23:34).<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">2.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise (Luke 23:43).<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">3.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Woman, behold your son: behold your mother (John 19:26-27).<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">4.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Eli Eli lama sabachthani? (&#8220;My God, My God, why have you forsaken<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0me?\u201d)\u00a0 (Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34).<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">5.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 I thirst (John 19:28).<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">6.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Father, into your hands I commit my spirit (Luke 23:46).<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">7.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0It is finished (John 19:30)<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In this presentation, which will be a series of seven essays, the words of the Lord Jesus are presented in the light of the knowledge mediated to mankind by the Grail Message.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Easter Season is certainly a good time to contemplate the deeper meaning of these words and their significance.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The words point to the real Mission of Christ, His suffering in the hands of ungrateful men and the way that leads to salvation.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">We now take them one after the other:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">FATHER FORGIVE THEM, FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO!<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Many today explain the crucifixion of Jesus as a sacrifice meant to appease God and that man is saved by the sacrificial death of Christ!<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">This longstanding thinking is questionable in the face of the statement made by Jesus as He was nailed to the cross: \u201cFather, forgive them; for they know not what they do.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The words \u201cforgive them\u201d can only refer to a wrongful act.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">After the words \u201cFather forgive them\u201d comes the extremely severe words: \u201cfor they know not what they do\u201d. These words also confirms that what was being done was wrong.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Instead of holding a grudge, Jesus prayed for the forgiveness of His enemies and this is a lesson for us. However, while Jesus could forgive and pardon the wrongs done against Him, the Laws of God continues to work out the just reaction on all who rejected the Teachings of Christ.\u00a0 For humanity, the rejection of Christ and His Mission has brought the results now manifesting as the current world events. Yes, the guilt of Golgotha is now being resolved in the World Judgement currently in full swing! These are reflected in the existing confusion, frequent wars, political unrests, economic difficulties, the incredible fate of individuals and the masses, new ailments with some leading to epidemics and pandemics, the natural catastrophes, and the global warming.
