{"id":23983,"date":"2020-02-17T19:44:12","date_gmt":"2020-02-17T19:44:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=23983"},"modified":"2020-02-17T19:44:12","modified_gmt":"2020-02-17T19:44:12","slug":"okowas-choice-as-south-south-govs-chair-will-impact-positively-on-security-and-unite-the-region-macaulay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=23983","title":{"rendered":"Okowa\u2019s Choice as South South Govs Chair Will Impact Positively on Security and Unite the Region &#8211; Macaulay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/alternativeadvert.com\/show.php?z=30&amp;pl=19271&amp;ad_type=81&amp;rl=1800\" width=\"336\" height=\"280\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">COMRADE Ovuozourie Macaulay has hailed the emergence of His Excellency the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the chairman of the South South Governors Forum,<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Macaulay who was a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) said that the choice of Okowa was apposite given his candour and mien.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201cThe decision of the Governors of the region to settle for Okowa\u2019s leadership is apt and I have no doubt in my mind that he will excel because he is calm, calculated and resourceful.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>\u201cGiven his antecedent in Delta State especially in tackling the problem of insecurity, I know that Governor Okowa will bring this rich experience to bear on security issues in the region and the security challenges of the country in general.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>\u201cHe will not only curb the security challenges, but unite the people of the region as well as galvanize the states to surmount the economic and developmental problems confronting the region,\u201d he stated.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Macaulay who is Director General (DG) of Warri\/Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency (WUEDA), urged the Governors of the region to rally round the new chairman to get the best for the people.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Delta State Governor was selected as chairman after elaborate consultations by governors of the region.
