{"id":23266,"date":"2019-10-24T06:22:22","date_gmt":"2019-10-24T06:22:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=23266"},"modified":"2019-10-24T06:22:22","modified_gmt":"2019-10-24T06:22:22","slug":"civil-society-groups-honour-bashorun-askia-ogieh-by-ovedhe-jerry-hezekiah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=23266","title":{"rendered":"CIVIL SOCIETY GROUPS HONOUR BASHORUN ASKIA OGIEH  by Ovedhe Jerry Hezekiah."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/alternativeadvert.com\/show.php?z=30&amp;pl=19231&amp;ad_type=81&amp;rl=1800\" width=\"336\" height=\"280\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div id=\":r7\" class=\"ii gt\">\n<div id=\":r8\" class=\"a3s aXjCH \">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Managing Director\/Chief Executive Officer of DESOPADEC, Bashorun Askia Ogieh, has been honoured in acknowledgement of his track record of excellent leadership and humanitarian approach to governance.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The honour was presented to him by\u00a0Centre for Peace, Transparency and Accountability together with Civil Society Groups for Good Governance<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Speaking on behalf of the delegates, President, Civil Society Groups for Good Governance, Comrade Ogakwu Dominic said they had not come to present the certificate of performance to the MD\/CEO of DESOPADEC, simply because he was the MD, but because they had kept track of his exploits over the years and determined that he deserved the honour.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Comrade Ogakwu Dominic added that the certificate was to encourage the MD to up his game, as well as to encourage him to use technology to bring positive change to DESOPADEC, as an ambassador of good leadership and a proven strategist.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The MD\/CEO, Bashorun Askia Ogieh, in his response, thanked God for journey mercy granted to them from Abuja and for the lofty award of excellence embedded in the certificate of performance issued him.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">At the onset of the meeting, Bashorun Ogieh recalled how the initial frosty relationship between Civil Society Groups and the Board of DESOPADEC has now developed into a cordial one.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Responding, the President, Comrade Ogakwu Dominic acknowledged that Askia&#8217;s transparency move saved the day, during the said dispute. He specially thanked the MD for being an outstanding leader and promised to stand by him throughout his tenure as MD\/CEO, DESOPADEC.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The team included the President, Civil Society Groups for Good Governance, Executive Director, Center for Peace, Transparency and Accountability (CTPA), Patrick Ogheneyero, Gladys Omana (Gender Desk Officer), Robert Christopher (Secretary, CTPA) and Okotie Humphrey (PRO, CTPA).<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Others present during the presentation of Certificate of Performance to Bahsorun Askia Ogieh includes; The Executive Director Social Services, Barr Leonard Anoka and Executive Director, Planning Research and Statistics, Amb. Shadrach Agediga witnessed the presentation.
