{"id":220,"date":"2014-08-16T08:08:30","date_gmt":"2014-08-16T08:08:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=220"},"modified":"2014-08-16T08:08:30","modified_gmt":"2014-08-16T08:08:30","slug":"its-time-to-forget-my-mistake-suarez","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=220","title":{"rendered":"It\u2019s time to forget my mistake \u2013 Suarez"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"nrelate_flyout_placeholder\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/suares.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-221\" alt=\"suares\" src=\"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/suares.jpg\" width=\"215\" height=\"235\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Luis Suarez was thrilled to have trained with his new Barcelona team-mates for the first time on Friday and says it is time to forget the past two months.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the Court of Arbitration for Sport decreed that Suarez\u2019s four-month ban from all football-based activity should not exclude him from training.<\/p>\n<p>Fifa hit Uruguay star Suarez was hit with the sanction after he bit Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup \u2013 the third time he has been found guilty of such an offence.<\/p>\n<p>The striker \u2013 who joined Barca from Liverpool for a reported \u20ac88 million (\u00a375m) last month \u2013 joined in training with the rest of the Spanish giants\u2019 squad on Friday, and could make his debut for the club in Monday\u2019s friendly against Club Leon at Camp Nou.<\/p>\n<p>And even though he cannot play competitively until late October \u2013 with his first appearance potentially set to be against Real Madrid \u2013 the 27-year-old expressed his delight at being able to practice with his team-mates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very happy to return to playing football and to be with my peers,\u201d Suarez told Barca\u2019s official website.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a situation that made me uncomfortable. I\u2019m paying for a mistake I made and have already apologised, but this should be forgotten.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe must think about the future \u2013 [which] is to be at Barcelona, the club where I had dreamed of playing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am very grateful to the club for all they have done for me in the last weeks and days.
