But the Bible says a tenth of whatever you earn belongs to the church,\u201d said Archbishop Lwanga.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGive me your support as I front this proposal because it is good for us. Aren\u2019t you tired of putting money in the baskets all the time?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Archbishop Lwanga said he wanted Uganda to go the German route, where Germans, who are registered as Catholics, Protestants or Jews have a church tax (<em>Kirchensteuer<\/em>) of 8-9 per cent deducted from their annual income.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was told Germans made agreements with their government to deduct monthly tithe from their salaries and forward it to the church and this money they use to build and renovate their churches,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><code><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alternativeadvert.com\/show.php?z=30&amp;pl=17094&amp;ad_type=64&amp;rl=180\" width=\"300\" height=\"600\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/code><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Archbishop of Kampala,\u00a0Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, has suggested that the government of Uganda deduct tithe from workers\u2019 salaries.
