The corpse was buried 23 years ago and in the recent photograph, Clemente was seen together with the nephew of the dead man while another relation took the shot with her phone.<\/p>\n<p>The man\u2019s body had been exhumed as his grave was being extended so his recently deceased wife could be added to the tomb, reports <em>The Local.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Clemente was pictured wearing his official blue polo shirt emblazoned with the town\u2019s coat-of-arms \u2013 a move which infuriated officials at the town hall in Guardamar del Segura, near Alicante.<\/p>\n<p>After taking the weird photo, the niece sent it to other family members, who then posted it to social media. Unsurprisingly, it was shared numerous times and seen by thousands of people, leading to an investigation by the town\u2019s civil guard, who suspended the grave digger from his duties.<\/p>\n<p>A municipal representative said: \u201cIt was silliness with no justification whatsoever and we will have to take a decision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Felipe Aldeguer, an elected official from the town said that the incident was \u201cunpleasant, miserable\u201d, but he added that the digger \u201chad not acted in bad faith\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Clemente\u2019s fate now hangs in the balance as his job comes under stiff scrutiny.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Spanish grave digger simply identified as Clemente, has been suspended from work after appearing in a pose with a corpse he just dug up.
