{"id":19393,"date":"2018-06-27T21:03:18","date_gmt":"2018-06-27T21:03:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=19393"},"modified":"2018-06-27T21:11:27","modified_gmt":"2018-06-27T21:11:27","slug":"afenifere-communique-rejecting-public-funded-ranches-demands-restructuring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=19393","title":{"rendered":"AFENIFERE COMMUNIQUE REJECTING PUBLIC FUNDED RANCHES: DEMANDS RESTRUCTURING"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- www.newsroom247.com.ng --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2163942495525027\" data-ad-slot=\"1411897411\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">(Communique of Afenifere General Assembly, June 2018)<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The General Assembly of Afenifere met at the Akure home of the Leader, Chief R.F Fasoranti today after exhaustive deliberations on the state of the Nation adopted the following communique:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>1, Plateau Genocide and President Buhari&#8217;s conflict of Interest<\/strong> :Meeting was\u00a0 devastated\u00a0 by the genocide that took place in Plateau State\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_2064962690\"><span class=\"aQJ\">on Sunday<\/span><\/span>\u00a0in which\u00a0 over 200 deaths occurred by eyewitnesses accounts, but the police admitted 100.These wanton killings and official irresponsibility portrays Nigeria as a barbaric entity and we YORUBA\u00a0 PEOPLE are pained living in the same space with the bestial elements who kill innocent people in cruel manner.The images of little children killed mercilessly with open skulls make anyone with human blood flowing in his or her veins to shrink. We are further distressed that the response of President Buhari to the murder of hundreds of our citizens did not attract a word of sympathy or regret .<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">It is very infuriating that the President&#8217;s response and that of Miyetti Allah appeared to have been authored from the same laptop. The Chairman of North Central zone of Miyetti Allah, Danladi Ciroma said the attacks were a retaliation for the loss of three hundred cows.Said he &#8220;These attacks are retaliatory &#8230;.Those who carried out the attacks must be on revenge mission &#8230;Fulani herdsmen have lost over 300 cows in the last few weeks&#8230;..Since these cows were not found ,no one should expect peace in the areas.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">President\u00a0 Buhari who is also the Grand Patron of Miyetti Allah who described the Fulani herdsmen terror as &#8220;herdsmen\/farmers&#8221; clashes &#8220;(a case of two fighting but dead bodies only on one side) also repeated the missing cows and even added another charge Miyetti Allah did not remember &#8221; According to information available to the Presidency about one hundred cattle had been rustled by a community in Plateau State, AND SOME HERDSMEN WERE\u00a0 KILLED IN THE PROCESS.The state governor,Simon Lalong had had invited the aggrieved groups and pleaded against further action &#8230;Less than forty\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_2064962691\"><span class=\"aQJ\">eight\u00a0 hours later<\/span><\/span>\u00a0violence broke out (an euphemism for the word &#8220;retaliation&#8221; used by Miyetti Allah Chief .<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<p><code><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alternativeadvert.com\/show.php?z=30&amp;pl=16554&amp;ad_type=59&amp;rl=180\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/code><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The President used the word &#8220;thugs&#8221;\u00a0 thrice to describe protesting residents while admitting that\u00a0 human life was becoming &#8220;increasingly cheap &#8221; under his watch without\u00a0 saying what he is doing to make it worthy or bring the herdsmen who have admitted killing people to book .He also repeated the blame game of &#8220;desperate people &#8221; causing instability and chaos&#8221; in furtherance of the vain attempt by the administration to divert attention from Fulani herdsmen responsible for the serial murders.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Three months ago,we did say that the President is afflicted by conflict of interests as Grand Patron of Miyetti Allah and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria .It is the affliction that has seen him now functioning as a Miiyetti Allah godfather at a time he should be presidential .We asked him and we are calling on him to make a choice between the two.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">It is pointless at this stage making any demand on this incorrigible administration .We ask our people to\u00a0 have special prayers\u00a0 for the souls of all those killed\u00a0 and for God to have mercy on Nigeria in\u00a0 all our mosques on\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_2064962692\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Friday 29th June<\/span><\/span>\u00a0in our churches on Sunday 1st\u00a0 of July ,and for Him\u00a0 to see us through the last few months of this administration .<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Politically, Nigerians must now gird\u00a0 their loins and see the democratic uprooting of this administration as a task that must be done in 2019 so as to save the the country from utter destruction .There is no land where the blood of the innocent is being shed\u00a0 daily like Nigeria\u00a0 that can make progress in any area of human endeavor. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>2, RESTRUCTURING IS A NATIONAL AGENDA<\/strong><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">At a time when the country as at the verge of collapse as a result of structural defects ,we noted that the President\u00a0 while receiving Urhobo leaders\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_2064962694\"><span class=\"aQJ\">on Monday<\/span><\/span> still dismissed the popular call for restructuring of the country when he said &#8220;Every group asking for restructuring has got their own agenda and I hope it can be accommodated by the constitution &#8220;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">We say without any reservation to Mr President that the call for restructuring is a selfless call borne out of the need to retrieve Nigeria from the brink of collapse and put It back on track.
