Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal High Court Abuja has nullified the suspension of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The judge, in a judgment delivered on Thursday, held that though the legislature has the power to deal with erring members, it did not follow due process in arriving at its decision.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Justice Dimgba also held that the reason given for the suspension of Omo-Agege by the Ethics and Privileges Committee was a fundamental breach of the Constitution and hence the suspension is a nullity.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n
The judge while declaring that the nullification is with immediate effect, also ordered the Senate to pay Omo-Agege all his salaries and allowances due to the suspension.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Meanwhile, the Divisional Police Officer in the National Assembly, CSP Sulu-Gambari Abdul, has blamed the April 18 invasion of the Senate and removal of its mace by hoodlums on internal conspiracy.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Abdul made this claim during an investigative hearing into the incident by joint ad hoc committee investigating the incident.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

According to him, what happened at the National Assembly was an act of internal conspiracy among some security agencies and some lawmakers.<\/span><\/div>\n
