Nigerian Senate but the Senator in a statement said he &#8220;remains unfazed and remains an ardent supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s agenda,&#8221;\u00a0 while Gov Ifeanyi Okowa media aide, Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe said &#8220;Ovie Omo-Agege is now in the history books as the first Urhobo Senator to be suspended&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"7iuam-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"7iuam-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"7iuam-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"dg6lr-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"dg6lr-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"dg6lr-0-0\">The suspension was recommended by the Senate Committee on Public Petitions, Ethics and Privileges which investigated him over comments made by the Senator on the reordering of electoral timetable.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"4bubc-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"4bubc-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"4bubc-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"en411-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"en411-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"en411-0-0\">The report which was submitted by the Committee Chairman, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, stated that the lawmaker declined to speak to the committee when he appeared before it.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"ahr4p-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"ahr4p-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"ahr4p-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"af7fh-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"af7fh-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"af7fh-0-0\">The report says Senator Omo-Agege told the Committee that he has taken the matter to court already and would not speak further.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"er18v-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"er18v-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"er18v-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"2slic-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"2slic-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"2slic-0-0\">In his ruling, Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki could not be dissuaded by the appeal from Senate leader, Ahmed Lawan, who pleaded that he should not be suspended.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"f19kf-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"f19kf-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"f19kf-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"1b1g3-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"1b1g3-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"1b1g3-0-0\">Saraki insisted that political leaders must be disciplined to serve as a deterrent to others and thereafter reduced the suspension from 180 legislative days to 90<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"6899n-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"6899n-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"6899n-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"2u076-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"2u076-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"2u076-0-0\">In a reaction the office of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has responded to the suspension of the Delta Central Senator by the red chamber, saying the Senator remains unfazed and remains an ardent supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s agenda.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"2tr2j-0-0\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"f7h99-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"f7h99-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"f7h99-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"9m8vh-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"9m8vh-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"9m8vh-0-0\">\u201cThe issues acted upon today by the Senate are pending before a court of competent jurisdiction and therefore subjudice.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"hl0c-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"hl0c-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"hl0c-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"as82u-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"as82u-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"as82u-0-0\">\u201cIt is the Senate\u2019s view that the issues be withdrawn from court for an amicable resolution to hold. Until a resolution is reached, it is better to respect the court processes by not commenting on them,\u201d in a statement signed by Senior Legislative Aide to the Senator, Prince Efe Duku<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"5el33-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"5el33-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"5el33-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alternativeadvert.com\/show.php?z=30&amp;pl=15952&amp;ad_type=59&amp;rl=180\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"5rgvg-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"5rgvg-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"5rgvg-0-0\">Although the Senator on February 21, 2018, apologized to the Senate over his comments about electoral act Amendment, the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges had recommended in its report that Senator Omo-Agege be suspended for 181 legislative days.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"1lau1-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"1lau1-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"1lau1-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"dnid7-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"dnid7-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"dnid7-0-0\">\u201cWe note that as part of the resolution of the issues, the Senate President, Distinguished Senator Bukola Saraki ruled that the Parliamentary Support Group, PSG, (Senate) for President Muhammadu Buhari should be disbanded.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"914av-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"914av-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"914av-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"8a014-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"8a014-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"8a014-0-0\">\u201cThis should be a matter for the over 50 members of PSG to decide, possibly with President Buhari on whose behalf they openly work as Distinguished Senators of the Federal Republic.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"shor-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"shor-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"shor-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"1d6ov-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"1d6ov-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"1d6ov-0-0\">\u201cIn the circumstance, we appeal for calm and assure that as a fervent believer in the rule of law, our Senator is in positive spirit.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"1qllg-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"1qllg-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"1qllg-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\" data-offset-key=\"avspr-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"avspr-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"avspr-0-0\">\u201cHe deeply respects the institution of the Senate and his good friends in the Senate. 90 legislative days, over conduct unbecoming of a distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"54j88\"
