{"id":17227,"date":"2017-12-18T19:21:31","date_gmt":"2017-12-18T19:21:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=17227"},"modified":"2017-12-18T19:21:31","modified_gmt":"2017-12-18T19:21:31","slug":"paris-club-refund-amount-received-by-each-state-as-okowa-says-buhari-cant-intimidate-govs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=17227","title":{"rendered":"PARIS CLUB REFUND: AMOUNT RECEIVED BY EACH STATE AS OKOWA SAYS BUHARI CAN&#8217;T INTIMIDATE GOVS."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><code><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- www.deltanewsroom.com --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2163942495525027\" data-ad-slot=\"1411897411\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/code><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Delta state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has said that the Paris Club Refund money belongs to the states which was due to over-deduction on loans and multilateral debts between 1995-2002 and that President Mohammadu Buhari cannot dictate to state governors on how the funds should be used<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Governor Okowa while responding to a claim that President Buhari has &#8220;read the riot act&#8221; on how the refund should be used said during a quarterly parley with members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Asaba today (18\/12\/17) that it was not true that the president &#8220;read the riot act&#8221; as the money in the first place originally belongs to the states.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p>According to the Governor, his administration has consistently, paid the salaries of civil servants, noting that approval has also, been given for the release of the sum of N2 billion to pay for other deductions owed civil servants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have approved the payment of December salary and I am confident that from tomorrow (Tuesday, 19\/12\/17), every worker in the state would have received his or her salary,\u201d the Governor said, disclosing that money from the Paris Club refund was spent on salaries and the execution of projects.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alternativeadvert.com\/show.php?z=30&amp;pl=15448&amp;ad_type=59&amp;rl=180\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Meanwhile the federal government has released a State by State breakdown of another tranche of Paris Club refund of over-deductions on Paris Club, London Club Loans and Multilateral debts on the accounts of States and Local Governments from 1995-2002.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: left;\">A statement from the federal ministry of finance said these payments which totalled N243, 795,465,195.20<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Below is the new Paris Club Refund: Amount Received By Each State:<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: left;\">1.
