{"id":17107,"date":"2017-12-07T20:11:11","date_gmt":"2017-12-07T20:11:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=17107"},"modified":"2017-12-07T20:11:11","modified_gmt":"2017-12-07T20:11:11","slug":"nigerian-police-confirms-boko-haram-may-bomb-abuja-six-other-states-this-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/newsroom247.com.ng\/?p=17107","title":{"rendered":"NIGERIAN POLICE CONFIRMS, BOKO HARAM MAY BOMB ABUJA, SIX OTHER STATES THIS CHRISTMAS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><code><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- www.deltanewsroom.com --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2163942495525027\" data-ad-slot=\"1411897411\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/code><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The warning from the United States and the United Kingdom of a looming bomb attack on the nation\u2019s capital and six other state during this Christmas from the obviously invigorated Boko Haram sect has been confirmed by the Nigerian Police.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Police said today that threats by the deadly insurgent group, Boko Haram to bomb\u00a0Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and\u00a0six other states is real.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The FCT Commissioner of Police, Sadiq Bello, said the Police would work with other security agencies to ensure that the threat is not actualised.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The United States and the United Kingdom missions in Nigeria had, last week, warned of possible attacks on soft targets in FCT, Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Jigawa, and Yobe states by Boko Haram insurgents.<\/p>\n<div class=\"JvbTZRWq\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<div id=\"paszonecont_78723\" class=\"paszone_container paszone-container-78723 \">\n<div class=\"pasinfotxt above\">\u00a0They warned Americans and Britons in Nigeria to avoid crowded places, including shopping malls, gardens and hotels which could be targeted by the terrorists.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Following the warning, the Inspector-General of Police directed Commissioners of Police, Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and personnel in the states to be on red alert.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The IG also directed the CPs in the states to hold stakeholders\u2019 meetings with the people in order to proffer possible ways of tackling the threat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Speaking during a stakeholders\u2019 forum on Thursday in Abuja, Bello said that security agencies were working hard to thwart the Boko Haram plot, adding that various strategies were being executed to keep the states safe from terrorists\u2019 attacks.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.alternativeadvert.com\/show.php?z=30&amp;pl=15335&amp;ad_type=59&amp;rl=180\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The CP said, \u201cThe threat to attack the city is real; however, we want to assure members of the public that we are working in collaboration with other sister security agencies to ensure that we all enjoy a peaceful Yuletide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">He added, \u201cWe are doing a lot, but we don\u2019t want to mention the strategy so that the men of the underworld don\u2019t take advantage of it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cWe are doing a lot, especially with our sister security agencies.
